As a straight guy I have to say that these pray the gay away people are one step away from the most evil group in the USA, the westbourgh baptist cult (church).  I love how that old woman, so full of hate, says she’s going to minister to gay people and JEWS...that’s a comparison that sounds fighteningly familiar...out of about 1933 in Germany.  There’s nothing wrong with gay people.  My gay friends aren’t sinners (okay some of them are but not for being gay). These people are completely out of their minds.  Leave gay people alone and let them live their lives.  And give them the same rights that straight guys like I have.  I would like to say to the god people please stop using Jesus as an excuse for being a narrow minded, biggoted jerk.

This documentary is a complete generalization that classifies people who approach anti-homosexuality in the right way and the wrong way in the same group. Why would you possibly care who another human being is inlove with?! I don’t! I only care about who I am inlove with. Why would you possibly care if Steve and Mark choose to have sex with eachother or why Sally and Rachel choose to have sex with eachother. I don’t! I care who I have sex with. Why put so much brain power towards this when you can put it towards solving world hunger, curing aids or cancer, many many many more important things! people.....get over it

Interesting how that one guy who claimed to be no longer gay ends up marrying an oriental woman.  Is this the same guy who went on the talk show circuits years back, claiming that he had over 500 partners before he became “ex-gay”?  I recall thinking at the time, regarding his wife (the oriental woman), “What woman with a healthy esnse of self esteem would accept as a marriage partner a man who has had over 500 sex partners?”

You can measure attraction by attaching a meter to the penis which measures blood flow. Then you can play a series of pictures at such a speed that consciously you don’t know what you are looking at, but slow enough that you still react to it physiologically. Get a test group of gay men, perform the test before and after different types of therapy. Make a documentary off that, not this reactionary non-science stuff.

I am angry with the film makers. They had unprecedented access into a world that needs be seen, and they blew it. The potentially strong narrative and significant storyline is left to ruins in a work that lacks concise vision. There is not a singular character voice that carries the piece and it is left to concept soup and idea mush. It drags mercilessly. The technical and artistic blunders make the story all but unbearable. Shot on what must be the cheapest of consumer equipment by the most incompetent of operators, you can forget a properly lit, miked or framed interview. I have seen home videos with better photography. This could have been a significant work. What a shame.
