For anyone interested, we’re currently making a feature documentary on Lorelei Lee, Princess Donna, and other porn performers to be announced. Here’s the behind the scenes blog that will follow the process of making the film and reveal bits of raw footage from the upcoming movie:

How about a film about women who have been forced into degrading jobs that don’t involve sex due to dire economic circumstances? Who thinks working in a chicken factory, slaughterhouse, or toxic chemical plant is less degrading or less dangerous than being in porn? You can get used to anything for a paycheck. The reason so many lament the lot of porn stars is because they’re the only group of workers who have had hundreds of documentaries done about them. The docs show the sad side for the moralists to have an excuse to watch while the rest of us enjoy the nudity without the lame excuse. Meanwhile, porn makes more money than religion worldwide, so try harder, god hucksters. Sex may predate your racket by eons, but you had a thirty year headstart in video.

as with everything, you can’t generalize. People working in the adult industry come from all walks of life, I’ve known girls who were sexualized at a young age, and severely mentally and emotionally abused by their mothers, she doesn’t attach emotion to sex, and in some ways she is right, I told her she should capitalize on that. Other girls do it cos’ they love sex, and the money is good-married girls with children, who have a different outlook on sexuality.
it beats working the drive thru, then again I think of those who do, and I say
they didn’t make that choice, they couldn’t and wouldn’t, everyone can’t be a model or escort.

Why not include her account of her childhood, which was messed up with no dad and an alcoholic mom? Or show the kind of porn “performance” she has done which includes being abused and humiliated? Because that might give a hint that the reason people are uncomfortable with Loralei is because her choices are the result of emotional damage, perhaps?

this girl is a ugly whore
too stupid to get a real job, and she degrades women everywhere.
In a few years shes going to be fugly like the rest of us and shes going to have a uphill battle to get some real skills. I will not feel sorry for anyone like this who wants to talk about how being a slut is fun.
I pray she doesn’t raise some illegitimate kids too since no one should findout at 12 there mom was a cheap hoe.
Freespeach, to all of you

Kudos to the filmmakers. I love films that look deeper and challenge preconceived notions. Lorelei seems like a tremendously likeable girl; I feel a nagging guilt for the fact that I think she deserves better than her job, even after seeing how small-minded she considers such sentiment. Which in turn makes me wonder why I feel that way…
Excellent job. As Leslie said below, I would watch a feature-length version of this, or an HBO series.
Also; Juan (below) is a buffoon.

put your judgments and your religious ideals aside, folks...Lorelei is as genuine, talented, gifted and amazing as they come. and that’s both inclusive of, and regardless of, what she has chosen for a day job.

One more thing I forgot to mention-prostitution is not a choice for 90% or more of the women who enter the “profession”. The majority of prostitutes world wide are children when they start working- think Asia, think Africa, think India, think downtown any major western city after dark, think about all the “tweens” and preteens on porn sites .Then think about the fact that € of the “missing children” in the USA are actually runaways- running away from violence and an awful large amount of incest. Guess what a large percentage of victims of sexual incest and violence in the family do when they leave home to make money? Yes, they sell their bodies for money because that is the currency they are used to dealing with or close to it. My god there is whole industry built up in Asia where women, with no other economical choice, use their bodies to get a western husband to marry them, take them out of the country where they can possibly go to school and study to be anything other than a prostitute.
Which leads me to my final opinion on the matter- I think the reason why people are floored when a fairly intelligent woman tells them she is a prostitute is because they wonder why did she have to do this? It puts people off, they think- was she/he abused as a child?
does she/he have some kind of exaggerated need for attention?
does she/he have a personality disorder? is she/he psychologically balanced? can she/he have meaningful sustained relationships?
will I get an STD if I sleep with him/her?
is she/he sleeping w/my husband?
These and many other questions float thru our minds.

Lorelei, you said in the video that people seem to be afraid of sex, and that it is not normal to be afraid of sex. I think that people are afraid of sex that they have to pay for. I think people are afraid of getting STD’s. I think people are afraid of the stereotypical image associated with prostitutes and porn queens, the image of bleached blonde hair and red nails. The image that no woman, or man for that matter, can possibly emulate in real life without undergoing extensive plastic surgery. The thing is- people are not afraid of sex but what modern day sex has become-a vacuous valley of copies, somewhat different but all essentially the same. Pornography is the biggest business other than war out there, in the multi-billions. It takes most woman until their 30’s to be able to feel good about their bodies and begin to enjoy sex, not just because of biological reasons but more so for psychological ones. I think that we are evolving sexually speaking as a society but the process is slow and as long as we live in a world where sexual slavery, sexual violence, and rape still exists we cannot lightly say that “people are afraid of sex” without realizing that many people do have good reason to be. Nor can I condone people being paid for sex because we are not living in a world where all people understand they cannot kill the woman they just paid to have sex with. When we live in a world where such a personal private and intimate act would in no way have a price tag attached to it, then we can say we are evolved. I kid you not- I have read extensively about prostitution and heard anecdotal stories, had friends who worked in the biz at one time or other, etc.. over the years and not one of them has not been affected negatively by the experience in some way. It is a downward spiral.

Well done. I can’t wait to see more. This is going to be a feature, right? I want to see more.

What the heck go the statement, “You simply must learn of GOD”? the statement sounds like it is from someone who needs the position of needing to judge others. Personally, I don’t have a desire to what Ms. Lee does. That type of work is a choice as is all types of work anyone decides to do. If your having a problem with this work she does please keep in mind that more people hate the work their presently involved in and yet continue to show up for work.
The only way we can have half a chance in this world is in allowing a willingness to learn for others ever if we disagree with their choices. When can we as social people be open to real discussions about the world around us? Every time I hear someone fall into the religious God thumping I want to puke because this rhetoric does no-thing of value.
If your have an over whelming desire to post then at least say something worth saying. If you only have a sound bit I suggest to say it to your self and move on with your life.

...You just don’t get it.
You parents have failed you, you simply must learn of GOD.

lol Truly, this is an empowering film for anybody so long as one views it with an open mind. I am a southern boy, born and reared, the neo-conservative agenda and right wing ideals are deeply rooted in my environment--information such as in this film would regarded as appalling. I feel this is unjust and individuals like you, Ms. Lee, ought to given appropriate credit for the courage expressed this mini-documentary. I believe there is something to be said for courageous acts of expression especially when one chooses to express themselves within the scope of social issues. I applaud you Ms. Lee and hope you are successful in grad school and all your other endeavors.

WOW great - can you make a series? There seems to be so much self-development going on and it’s true that we are afraid of sex. I want to learn more about your journey and realizations, ideas, observations, etc...so cool!

Wow, well done. I love how Ms. Lee take complete ownership and educates those who don’t understand and view this as stigma and taboo. Sex positive education is sorely needed. Thanks so much for enlightening people about this.

I admire Lorelei’s work--her sincerity comes through. I think if there is any porn performer who’d I’d most bet is really empowering herself rather than exploiting herself, it’s probably Lorelei.

I don´t do anything what i don´t want to do.
So sometimes I have to pay for it by beeing absolutly out of money.
But thats okay because I´m an artist and I love it.
So everybody should do it by its own way and respect other peoples choice.
I like the performances of Lorelei. And I hope she´s payed good for her work.
I´m still not sure if it´s more digusting to work in a bank (low payed) and ruing others life by earning money.

I think its sad for people to be scared of sex,
I think most of the times people are scared (in America) because they think having to do something like that for money when you dont really want to is not good. Or maybe being scared for single moms having to do the to provide for the family, not saying I agree with that but just something I think a majority of people fear.
I hope people respect sex workers more

i think you have put lorelei lee where lorelei, a film about a japaese ww2 weapon should be, which I don’t think is a story of a stripper
