I love this! i am a hug fan of manga and anime. i am an artist as well this was really great, thanks! i never really understood the naughty ones and hentai but now it makes alot more sense to me as to why they make them :D very informative!

I knew nothing about manga or otaku before seeing this film and was totally amazed and mezmerized by the whole concept, especially the fact that 40% of printed material in Japan is MANGA!  Comic book culture is really a sub-culture in America, but in Japan, it is totally mainstream. I was also fascinated by the fact this is so much of an adult activity in Japan.  Also, I found the cosplay quite bizarre and totally interesting.  I couldn’t stop watching it.

Thanks for your comments! The film is a look into a culture-within-a-culture, and the filmmaker is obviously knowledgeable about otaku (and probably is one!)

A fascinating look at otaku culture; unfortunately, the more sexual aspects of the culture means this documentary is not appropriate for younger viewers. I suspect the people coming to view this are, like I, part of “the choir"--people already immersed in the culture (through my daughter, at least)and who recognize many of the characters and works shown in the film.  It would be interesting to see comments from viewers who were completely unaware of the culture beforehand, or knew very little.  A highly enjoyable and accurate film.
