Nice hearing it start with rapper’s delight haha. Senegal can be a rough area and it’s great to see these guys capturing the essence of hip hop and bringing it back to its roots, moving away from the objectification of women that’s so pervasive today. The video really highlights the poverty that many of them can be living in.

hey, I dig it. I like the fact that there’s no lyrics objectifying women, glorifying violence or drugs in what they are putting out. And they are not just talking about living a rough life, it actually IS their life. Huge respect to all these brothers.

Excellent film. This seems to be a short version of the Democracy in Dakar film which I saw in Bermuda. If you like this, that is a more in depth with a political slant as well. Great stuff!
