I just about cried seeing that little girl pick up the “bad” doll and then pick up the doll that looked like her… same doll. Where did this mindset come from? =( Since when does our skin color determine our potential? It shouldn’t be a factor.

As long as we say that we are from Africa or England or Russia then we will have problems, if you were not born in that country then you are not African or English or Russian. if you were born in the USA then you are an American no matter what color your skin is and until we grow up and stop separating ourselves by color or what ever we will not have a true and strong country. I do not care if you are black,white, or pink with purple poke dots American is American.

great little short.  thank you for putting it out there.  ...jacquie, you’re off point a bit, if a parent doesn’t have the sense of self worth than how does that parent magically instill self worth in their child?  it takes more than just the parents, it is a social responsibility and takes a deeper level of understanding.  It cannot be brushed aside with “this sort of ignorance” take a look in the mirror and how you are placing blame.  this sort of ignorance… this sort of ignorance… I wish you could hear yourself and how very far removed you are from understanding the point of this film and the broader issue of the ramifications of repression.

This sort if ignorance starts at home. Children are taught hatred, doesn’t matter what form.  It is our responsibility as parents to instill self worth.

First of all, I love all races, colors and flavors, and languages, as I always try to learn something new from someone and of course I would feel frustrated if it happens to me.
And I think that we should be the best of ourselves and not just follow the wave (bandwagon).
