mike, So maybe you have an ounce of humility in you after all. Or perhaps you just don’t have the right hero, just as Janette mentioned. If I can make a suggestion--the only true Hero for us is the One who taught us not to judge one another. His very earth given name is close to Hero, but means salvation in Hebrew. He is definitely my Hero and sounds like he was Father Mychal’s and Jeanette’s as well… we can all not only be saved, but also learn to be heros through Him with Him and by Him Posted 09/14/09 by Good grief
To Ms Santiago, how can someone watch these various videos and then attack a commentor who applauds the goodness of the message. You speak of your humilty yet your message carries only bitterness, perhaps jealousy, regarding something perhaps you have yet to find. We should lift ourselves higher on our own, not climb on the back of the deficiencies of others. “If you don’t have something nice to say, keep quiet.” Posted 09/14/09 by mike

I am a very spiritual person and I care for people, animals and anything with feelings. When I started watching the film the more I watched, the more amazed I became of this Saint of 9/11 that walked the streets of New York. Of all the places in this world he chose New York. I myself have never called anyone DAD. I have never met my father. The void that Father Mychal Judge felt in his heart was very strong and I know this from experience. I have been feeling the same void. After watching this film, which I never took my eyes off of. I realized that even after Father Mychal’s death his ministry is still at work. It took this film of him to help me with that void in my heart. What a beautiful and amazing individual he was. Throughout our life we are asked numerous times “Who is your hero? I am 47 years old and every time even while in school I was asked that question. My answer was I don’t have a hero and I have never had a Hero. Until today September 14, 2009. My hero and Saint is Father Mychal Judge. I will keep in my heart and put to practice what I have just learned from him as long as I live. i Thank you Lord for Saint Mychal Judge. I will be sharing this wonderful story. Posted 09/13/09 by Pat C
When I began to watch this film, I thought it might cause an emotional drain because of the entire 9/11 memory. Instead it was truly inspiring. I am familiar with anonymous programs and I now think Fr. Judge was the embodiment of what the founders of A.A. taught and continue to teach all over the world through their writings. So many of us have feelings about persons in great need, but trip over our own feet and can’t act as a result. This is a case where a representative of organized religion truly got it right. The film was beautifully done and refrained from being maudlin. Rather, it teaches all of us how we can not “let the little we can do stop us from doing the little we can do. By the way, I was more impressed by the interviews with people Fr. Judge helped than by those of celebrities and politicians. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Pat Posted 09/13/09 by Barbara Ilardo
This film touched me to the core, and I was deeply moved by it. I couldnt take my eyes off of it. I recently went to the Franciscan Friary on 31st Street in NYC never knowing that was where Fr. Mychal Judge had lived. I was there to pray at the Padre Pio Shrine at St. John’s and stopped in the Friary which is down the street. God works in mysterious ways as Fr. Mychal showed us. I have Irish roots myself, and the film touched me in that way also.

Pretty cool. 12 step and all. Truly Human. Posted 09/13/09 by pat
I recall that Father Judge is listed as the first person to die on 9/11...I think this is because God knew that he would be so needed in heaven to be there to greet all of his firefighters on that awful day.He believed that he was put in places for a reason and what better reason than to be where he would embrace his flock? The world needs more people like this saint. Posted 09/13/09 by Arlene D. Scott
This documentary is the best that I have ever seen @ with out a doubt the best that I will ever see.

Thank you for this. I shared it with my cousin, who just lost his mother recently after a year of being entrenched with her care. I hope it comforts him as it it did me. Posted 09/12/09 by Lisa E. T.
This audio video was beautifully done. It has touched my heart deeply. Thank you for sharing so much about the life of this most wonderful human being. I believe I would find a picture of Father Mychal next to the word “Benevolent” in the dictionary. Thank you again. Posted 09/12/09 by Hope A.

As a Catholic, I am in awe of this man. As a human, I am humbled. He should be honored through the church as he was----a saint. Posted 09/11/09 by Richard Badagliacco
God Bless Father Mychal Judge, this short film was very deep,I was one of many that day . I worked on Wall St and I watched the towers fall, as I looked at this film I had to dry the tears from my eyes. Posted 09/11/09 by Crystal
Heartbreaking and heart-lifting all at once. I cannot help but cry viewing his story again. I watched when this was all unfolding eight years ago today. It is as horrifying today as it was then, if not more so. His life is an inspiration to us all. If we could honor his memory by doing something for others, as he so mightly did, then and only then will the memory of this event be superceeded by pure “good”. God Bless Father Mychal. I wish that I could have known you before. Thanks to the film’s writers for letting us know more about this most special Saint of God. Godspeed. Posted 03/21/09 by Rhodanthe
Greeting. Looks are part of business. A businessman should never stand out more than his customers. His mannerisms, his clothes, everything about him… Moderation is the key.

I absolutely loved this film. I had like many heard of Fr. Mychal from my sister who lives in West Milford, NJ. I also remember 9/11 and the losses and especially one of the Chaplin of the NYFD. This was so moving in such a simple way. The lives that have been touched by this man will continue to touch others. I feel blessed just to have seen this and encouraged to step outside myself to give to others. Posted 09/13/08 by Katherine
I heard about Father Mychal and his goodwill for years. Being from the New York/New Jersey area his message was heard daily because of his love to help the needy. Not just the homeless, but people that needed him in their daily lives of struggle. I met him at St. Patrick’s cathedral one cold day in November. He was magnetic. What an honor to view this movie. The Religious Right may have turned me into a cynic who views the church , This touching and powerful film, however, reminds me that I once believed in the good works done in the name of God. This is good movie making. Posted 09/11/08 by Margaret Ayorinde
I am very happy to see this Tribute today in Honor of Fr. Mychal, whom I knew so little about until today. This movie came at the time that I needed it, because I have been trying to explain to some of my parish families about Gay people and Gay marriage. I am very happy to know that I have accepted people for who they are and I am hoping that many people will stop worrying about the strict structures of our religion that is allowing people to think that they are the Judge and Jury of all that is Holy. God bless all of you for making this movie, and God rest Fr. Mychal’s Soul. Posted 09/11/08 by m
What an amazing man. As a former New Yorker who witnessed 9/11 and a Catholic who attended St Francis Xavier church I am so touched. Father Mychal’s story gives me such a sense of renewed faith in God and in the church. I pray someday everyone in our church will be like him. Posted 09/11/08 by Tyrone S Boyle
As a gay person and spiritual human being I am humbled by the life of Father Mychal. Here is a soul brought to this earth by God with all of his flaws (as we all have), goals, joys and pains and he shared them with his world. I never knew him while he walked this earth but after viewing this posting I feel like I have gotten to know a man who truly loved God and was able to see the goodness in every human being he came across. As I remember the events of 9/11 it is my hope (as it would also be Father Mychal’s) that we embrace the humanity and goodness that we all possess and try to live that out in the way we interact with others. God Bless you Father Mychal and thanks for touching my life. Thank you as well to the folks that had a hand in putting this presentation together.
Sincerely,
