Yes fresh healthy food costs more than fast food, but when you buy that freash, healthy food, you can make alot more meals with it. If you buy the healthy raw foods and make a meal at home, you’re probably going to have leftovers. You can make 25 servings of chicken soup on a Sunday afternoon, and freeze it in individual containers, all for about $1 per serving. It’s a lot up front, but you KNOW what you are eating, you KNOW that it’s healthy.

Chloe - Don’t mind the pun here but you are “ OUT TO LUNCH” on this. Corporations have a responsibility to make sure consumers are aware of the effects of their products and the health hazards. Science has proven that these types of products are not healthy - period. All Fast food corps have prayed upon people being misinformed about the effects of this type of food along with the marketing machine that shoves it down our throats at every flip of the TV channel. Slowly there is a change happening with more people becoming aware of what they are eating and hopefully our schools will help change the way children learn to eat because old habits die hard and we can’t rely on the majority of parents to learn better habits. Its films like this that are needed more since we are being FED a pack of lies about our health!

fat people are to blame they cant control themselves
And corporate executives who spend billions on advertising, clowns, playgrounds, toys, etc. to target kids are NOT to blame????

To say that the people who eat this food have a choice and are not forced to is to ignore the facts. Fresh healthy food costs more than fast food. So your ability to enjoy food that will not effect your health is directly connected to your income. Poor people eat fast food because it’s cheep and easy. After working 40-60 hour weeks, would you want to have to cook?
It is also interesting that the higher the caloric content of a food the less it costs? Calories are essentially ENERGY. So how can fast food, with calories in excess of 1000s be less than foods with lower calories cost more?
What if this was applied to gas?
Also the government is not here to enforce anything but the rights of the people. Are taxes a right?
These movies are a bunch of lies packed together so tightly that people believe they are truth? Take a look around you . . . the government wants us to be so overwhelmed that we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. The medical facts in the film were true. But maybe you should so this experiment for yourself and see where it gets you?

When free healthy food costs more than fast food, if you’re poor, you’re obviously going to make choices based on budget. To claim that “they are not forced” to do it is an illogical argument. Did you know that the more calories an item has the less it costs to the public? Does that make any sense?
Posted 02/15/10 by Emilia is stupid
to Emilia-how stupid are you, so your saying that he is lying about how fat mc donalds makes you, how can he be lying about how bad mcdonalds is for you, the lowest amount of calories anything there has is like 250
Posted 02/15/10 by Mary Sherman
Emilia, Amber: Please! Have mercy!! Have you NEVER been influenced to do something you know is risky/you shouldn’t do? The fast food industry has spent millions of dollars to withhold and obfuscate information about how health-damaging their food is while they promote fast food addiction in children. Is it any wonder that many people don’t fully understand what fast food can and will do to their health?
Think of this: Since it would cost the same if McDonald’s served good, clean healthy food - why don’t they do it? I can’t answer that question. Can you? They certainly could phase it in. And I don’t mean “salads” that have more fat than a Big Mac!
On the other hand, Emilia and Amber, you are free to choose to believe what you want to believe. By the way, how is YOUR health?
Posted 02/15/10 by Greg
The whole problem with this guy and this waste of film was answered in his first line. He was born in West Virginia! Hello!
Posted 02/15/10 by Emilia
This guy--nobody for that matter--is NOT being forced to eat anything. His “documentaries” are like Moore’s, just a bunch of lies packed together so tight as to make people think they are true. There is NO way any business can force you to do anything. Now, government can force you… It can even force you to testify against yourself. Here’s a hint: TAXES!

There are many Walmarts with McDonalds in them. Why would they choose to sponsor this film? I will never again eat at McDonalds!
Posted 02/13/10 by Amber
do corporations serve our need or enslave our bodies and soul?
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You idiots are solely responsible for eating yourselves to death! Too freaking lazy to go to the bookstore or hell do an online search about HEALTH. Then to pass your ignorance on to your children. You should be the ones in jail. Stop pointing fingers at the corporations for your own stupidity.
Posted 02/13/10 by david
from what I can tell the point of this documentary is this guy’s (spurlock or whatever his name is) self promotion; I love a big mac once in a while
Posted 02/06/10 by Gwendolyn Harris
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I eat this way all the time and never took the time to see how it has affected my life. Or what I have been teaching my daughter about proper nutrition. Knowing is half the battle and applying what you know is the other half, once again thank you. What you did was not in vein. You have truly changed the way I look at eating and will feed my daughter. Please continue your WAR ON PROPER NUTRICTION
Thanks,
Gwen

no free ads for Walmart, one of the worst corporations in the country
Posted 02/03/10 by Dolores Helman
I resent free advertisement for Walmart which is a very unscrupulous business. It has deceimated many communities.
Posted 01/08/10 by jl
I didn’t see the McD ad but I do love my Big Mac. They have significantly changed their menu in response to this and other changes in public dietary habits (though I still get some uncomfortable “side effects” from eating it)
Posted 01/08/10 by woobsmom
think its real interesting that there is a huge mcdonalds ad right on top of this film window!
Posted 12/06/09 by Langley
You really think its just up to all of us to make a dision about what we is true, but only to a certain point. You need to take the time and watch the film “King Corn”, then let us know if you still feel its one persons responablity or is a corporation responsable too.
Posted 11/16/09 by john
f*ck yeah!!
Posted 10/15/09 by seana
personally i think it is the people themselves that should watch what they eat and excersize...it is not the companies fault even though they could add other options with non fat food but its still the peoples CHOICE...mcdonalds don’t shove food down your throat and make you eat it...people just want other people to blame for their laziness...and for people sueing these companies they just want fast money...they should be smart enough to put one and one together...eating high fatty foods will lead to you being fat and unhealthy! duh
Posted 09/28/09 by Elyse Garcia
I LUUUVVVVVVVV!!!!!!!!!!! THIS MOVIE IT TAUGHT ME ALOT OF THINGS I SHOULD CHANGE AND WHOEVER HAS ANYTHING AGAINST IT HAS SOMETHIN SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THEM
Posted 09/26/09 by lynn
OMG!!!!!!!!There is no coporate power. Please stop with lies.
Oh come on McDonalds is not at fault here.
It’s the lazy asses who CHOSE to continue to eat only unhealthy foods. OH don’t forget EXERCISE!!!!
My form of exercising is dancing NOT PROFESSIONAL just moving to music longer than 30 min or more and more than twice a day. WALK, WALK, WALK get off your fat ### and move.
I love McDonalds, but LOVE spinach salads more. I love Chic-fil-A, but LOVE fish and salmon (everyday if I could) My son would second this choice. I love meat lovers Pizza Hut pizza, but really LOVE my homemade spinach pizza.
I LOVE FRUITS lots of it. I love NUTS. I don’t like sodas. And please greed (greedy) is a choice, you don’t need the super size because it there or it’s offered.
If I choose to eat out I eat the appetizers most of the time because it’s smaller also it depends on the place.
The truth is I love to cook……….. and I really, really, really, love my own cooking and so does my family.
Remember choice WE (not the fast food places) WE (the ones stuffing our faces) all have to make the healthier choice more often.

A great “eye-opening” film about a major contributor to obesity. It certainly makes you think twice about shoving fast-food down your throat!
Posted 08/29/09 by james
After watching this SUPERSIZE ME film, I will certainly think twice before stopping at a fast food restaurant in the future.
Posted 08/29/09 by gar
but isnt he saying in the begining that the two teenagers are stupid for eating the food EVERY day? it shouldnt be the fast food industry’s fault.. it should be the two fat asses who cant keep control of their diets and got huge as hell because of all the food they ate. what a ridiculous case.. just like the retard who sued for spilling hot cofee on herself..
Posted 08/28/09 by Louche
Yeah… because Hitler was such a liberal. That guy was never vegan. Eating vegan food does not equal being vegan.
Posted 08/20/09 by Kurt
Typical liberals: blame the government, corporations, and capitalism for “enslaving” people and forcing them to eat fast food. You just can never take responsibility for your own actions. Always blame someone else. Kind of like Hitler did. It isn’t McDonald’s fault that people are fat unless they are secretly adding some sort of addictive ingredient to their food that makes people uncontrollably crave more. Grow up you stupid liberals and start taking responsiblity for your own pathetic lives.

Was excited to see this listed here, but too bad I’m in the UK and can’t play it from my location.
Posted 06/30/09 by Kaywan Muhammed
I agree with funy fat people should watch what the hell are they eating, regardless of their craving for junk food.
Posted 06/17/09 by Sylvie
That was really good! Fat people are NOT to blame. These big corporations lure them in and make them faties. But people need to get the hell out of McDonalds and other fast food places. I know the corps are a biz, but they lie and trick people. That is totally NOT what a biz does! Corps have to stop lying and chose one of the following things that they should do:
a) be transparent and tell people the honest truth
b) make your food healthier, so it doesn’t kill people
c) all of the above
The correct answer is c, but the other ones would be perfectly fine also.
Thanks for listening, Sylvie

seriously such a great movie. i knew mcdonalds was bad for you but i didn’t realize the government and even school food companies were in on it and only in it to make money. i should have known though.
the big reasons most people eat stuff like mcdonalds all the time are a.) its usually only 5 mins away from them b.) its already made c.) it’s cheaper than buying everything at specialty organic stores and way faster than cooking your own meal that you probably haven’t tried cooking before. d.) you have that craving for chicken mcnuggets or whatever thats been there since the first time you ate them as a child.
ugh its so ###### up..i wonder if people raised on farms with only homecooked meals to eat growing up succumb to eating mcdonalds/other fast food. this movie just makes me want to cook a homecooked meal. mmmm.
Posted 05/07/09 by funy
fat people are to blame they cant control themselves
Posted 05/06/09 by Hannah Caitlyn
I think it is sad people had to sue mcdonalds! they are the ones who went to eat there in the first place if it is any ones falt it is the peoples!
Posted 05/02/09 by Toni
Um...I’m 19 and I’m 4’11 and I weight about 116 lbs....and if I’m pretty much the same height...and same weight and I wear a size 0-3....that’s not over weight, look at a height and weight chart. you’re normal weight. ugh
Posted 04/24/09 by nate
hey 15 year old… it is METABOLISM… your ####### retard! haha plus if you are fat, then you might WANT cardio! Cardio makes you more in shape and lifting only increases weight…
Posted 03/26/09 by Pat
Oh Jesse. What foods are you eating? I’d love to see your food chart!
Posted 03/07/09 by Jesse
well the only problem is that the whole thing is TABOLISM.i eat pretty well i keep a food chart moslty everyday and im 15 years old. and i am “overweight” and i have been all my life. i heat home-cooked meals and cannot afford going out often.i sometimes go to the Y to go work out and i don’t do cardio just weight lifting just little weight 25’s on each side when i bech press 40 on tri’s and 75 on a calf workout, nothing heavy just normal weights. so case and point i am 15 5’0 and 116.4 pounds and i am over-weight because my metabolism not McDonalds

WOW! It took 14 months to repair the damage one month of McDonalds did to his body! I think from now on I’ll be indulging in an age-old tradition of cooking from scratch with fresh food! I knew that fast food was bad for you, but I had no idea it could toxify your liver that badly! If his girlfriend wants him to eat healthy, but he doesn’t want to be vegan, then she could get grass-fed organic beef, organic cheese, organic tomatos, organic pickles, organic onions, organic ketchup, organic mustard, & organic whole grain wheat buns and make him an organic cheese-burger - now that’s some delicious food right there!!
Posted 02/06/09 by Kevin
“Are you eating to live or living to eat?” Just boycotting fast food places won’t miraculously make you a healthy individual. A very important notion to consider is:
Eat mindfully!
Always know what goes in your body. Do research, the information is out there. Consult dietitians and ask how you can eat based upon you caloric intake.
Posted 02/01/09 by Albert Villarreal
This film was awesome. It has been out for quite some time now and i’m bareley getting around to seeing it. I found it alarming and disturbing I had no idea that eating fast food could do so much damage. Thank you for the wake up call.

I watched Super Size Me after watching the documentary King Corn. These are two films everyone in America should watch. Highschools should definitely provide these as part of the curriculum. My family and I are quite healthy. We try to stay away from products containing High Fructose Corn Syrup, consume red meat sparingly, and buy organic when possible. After viewing these films I’ll be taking extra measures to promote my families well being. I’m so grateful for the knowledge these films have to offer. I recently joined in the fight against McDonalds offering free Happy Meals to students who receive good report cards in school. Some of these free Happy Meal tickets were actually printed on the back of the report cards. The reality that our government is promoting a society of fat, dumb, and “happy” people sickens me. I worry about the wellbeing of my three beautiful children. I’ll be telling everyone that I can about these films. The truth will set us free!

you wonder if Mcdonalds saw this movie and if it changed things, I would certainly believe that they changed there menu to draw you back in to eat at mcdonalds. After people saw this movie I think they will rethink the food they eat a little better than before , I hope. Some people wont care though, just like people who smoke and cant quit, the people who believe its ok to eat a salad at mcdonalds and the calories are less than other menu items are sadly mistaken again. See they got people to come back and eat anyway. You have to remember one thing IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They could not care less about the peoples well being, it’s about how much MONEY were going to make. save yourself from harm, eat at home.

Hi Everybody,
I’m quite new here, so please bear with me for my question:
My question is: how come we in Denmark cannot watch this
movie it states “This video is not available in your
region.”
What am I doing wrong? besides living outside the US ?
Kind Regards,

I’ve been wanting to watch this, and I am glad I did. I already try to eat heavy (I don’t exercise at all either), and I have been an on-the-go American myself. While I didn’t get “obese,” I did notice a lot of the symptoms, like fatigue and depression, and chest aches and pressure, drop down dramatically. I still had no clue that eating fast food could be so dangerous. It’s great that he cared enough to take the challenge. I effortlessly keep my weight by eating sugars, sweets, beef, veggies, and juice (mostly organic). I haven’t lowered my intake, just selected different foods (organic, at home cooked or homemade when possible from the grocery, NO SODAS other than on occasion) and the change was obvious. This movie should be part of our children’s school curriculum, as well as other “infomercials”, books, and programs that would inform our young generation of what a calorie, and saturated fat, and minerals etc are (was shocked to see how many people didn’t know this elementary information). Through years of societal conditioning through education, maybe Pavlov’s theory will kick in and the nation will inadvertently boycott merchandises who don’t live up to an unharmful food standard.
Posted 11/01/08 by Allisen
He did exercise based on what the average American exercises.. which it alomst none, which makes it even more accurate for normal non-exercising on-the-go Americans.
Posted 10/23/08 by Jeffsc
A little flawed in that he should have kept his same exercise routine that he was doing before the 30 day binge. Not a very scientific study at all.
