Of course I liked the general direction of the Naomi Wolf film, End of America. But I really want to see more depth of discussion, like interviews or quotes from Edward Kennedy about his being on the terror list. What has he done about it? With what results? Also, who is willing to work against this misdirected, fascist turn of government within our congress, the media, the Democratic party, the Greens, etc. In other words, I have the same gripe about this film that I do about nature studies these days; that a dear little creature, like American democratic tradition, is shown in great and compelling detail, and then the overwhelming predator is introduced, and then the outcome is left up in the air. Will the environment shrink until the dear creature is dead? Is it already dead? Are we seeing the last shots ever filmed? Who is ready right now to prevent it? That’s what we need to know right now, as we finish your film; not what vague, gneral steps should any wholesome, good-government type do. Even with the election of a new administration, as the film suggests, the danger is specific and unended. Who in Obama’s camp is with the makers of the film?

this film made the hairs on my hand stand up. it is scary how true her film is. now i want to read her books.

I just watched this film from Naomi Wolfe. She mentions that it was and older lady from Germany that told her America today is much the same as what she was happening in Germany in the 1930s when the Socialist Nazis came to power.

I also met an older woman from Germany who said the very same thing. However, she was working at the Republican Headquarters in Glenn County helping to stop Obama. Naomi, a Democrat, seems to be laying it all at the feet of George Bush.

Naomi’s movie is using this threat to our country to simply play politics against the Republican Party. I am not defending the Republicans because they have also done their part to advance socialism in America. In the name of fighting crime and social justice they have helped institute many unconstitutional laws and programs.

She is not being intellectually honest. Yes we must awaken to what is happening, but in an honest non-political way. I believe it is the Republicans that are fighting for our right to own guns. This alone nullifies Naomi’s finger pointing at the Bush Administration.

Yes Barrack and the neo-socialist Democrat Party do have an agenda to make us defenseless. Our US Constitution requires we the people to defend the country from all enemies, foreign and domestic. It also requires us to over-throw our government if it becomes tyrannical. This is why the liberal politicians want to take away our right to bear arms.

Naomi mentions Backwater Security Forces as an example of unconstitutional hired guns. However Obama has promised that he will create a Civilian Army to be used against the citizens.

They have an agenda and if the pubic were to know the truth, there would be an uprising.

This is a film worthy of the big screen. Naomi’s argument is bipartisan, and tells the facts with grace and passion. This is a film every American should watch.

It is people like Nigel, the poster before me that will make all these efforts pointless. While he stands around spewing his unrational remarks, making little to no sense, and proving his stupidity he becomes an interferance to unfocus the mission. Nigel...get a life!

This movie is incredible and .needs to be in every theatre in the country! Our only hope of spreading this information is the internet and as soon as Obama takes office we will lose that opportunity as well. Internet will become regulated and controlled. God help us all.

Actually, Julie, you need to put aside the Kool-Aid and get over your hatred of anything associated with George Bush.  I’m not going to try to tell you he was a saint, just to look at reality.  Barack Obama is the most liberal and socialist-thinking person we’ve had near the White House in our lifetimes.  He has talked about “change we can believe in”, but is filling his administration with all the old Clinton cronies, including Hillary.  He is making plans to dramatically increase spending on handouts and freebies for an ever-growing segment of the population, while promising to pay for it all by “making the rich pay their fair share” of taxes. The real tax increases he is proposing will be directly affecting the rich, the upper-middle class, the lower-middle class, and every small business and entrepeneur in our nation.  He has lied or covered up his close ties and affiliations with public figures who have espoused hatred for our nation, hatred for capitalism, hatred for successful business endeavours, hatred for white Americans, hatred for Jewish Americans, and even people who have comitted treason in the form of terrorism, resulting in the death of our fellow citizens. 

Yet other liberals and people like you, who refuse to stand for our nation and all that can be good within it, worry instead about one of two things.  Either the obsession is to rail against all conservatives and Republicans, because that is a continuance of the fight against George Bush, or the obsession is to support Barack Obama to prove that you are a “progressive” who is “racially unbiased” and “modern thinking”, and you want to prove it by electing an African-American.  But you either cannot explain what his actual policies and plans entail, or you deny that all of his anti-American, anti-capitalistic, and racist ties apply to him, or even exist.

Obama spoke out against the war, and that is what people do not like. I work at a VA hospital running group sessions, and I can’t tell you how many of these vets are excited that we have a pres-elect that is willing to speak out. They don’t feel like he is demeaning their service in ANY way- and they feel angry that pundits like the ones on FOX news think they need to have someone stand up for them that does not even know how they really feel- these men and women are perfectly capable of speaking for themselves.

We need to stand behind our president now as a united country, speak out when we feel he has made a mistake, laud him when he has moved us in the right direction. The election is over, and with it the ugliness of the McCain campaign- trying to divide us and turn one part of the country against another (I saw more than one McCain speech when he would make an obvious ill remark about one region or city, and then wait for the boos to start before he continued.)Obama did not make McCain look bad and ill prepared, he did that on his own. People booing Obama at the concession speech was the last straw for me. It is depressing and time for things to change, time to try something new- and instead of being angry it is time for us all to work together, and not let our prejudices and fear get in the way. The US Supreme Court didn’t appoint Bush as President, they merely prevented the Florida State Supreme Court from appointing Gore.

I agree with Robert O’Brien that the repeated commercials savagely undermine the value of this film. It is indeed ironic that a film about the gradual advent of a fascist, rogue government should have its message so blunted as to be ineffective by the insistence on mindless, fear-mongering advertising.

I hope the irony of watching a streaming version this film where every few minutes (without warning) the same battery commercial pops up and plays over and over. With a missing child as the theme of the commercial, they are actually using fear to sell their batteries.

Your concerns echo my own and those of a lot of people, who say “Okay, I’m awake! Now what do I do?”

I recently realised that the knee-jerk reaction a lot of folks have that causes them to accuse people of being paranoid or even mock them for it arises from what in many cases is their own fear that is for one reason or another unable to manifest in the open yet.  So what happens is they gain satisfaction from thinking of YOU as insane, and themselves as level-headed and rational.  But I have a deeply held instinct that Americans are very worried about this and it is exactly that worry that is making them LIE to themselves and others and make excuses.  Another reason is that we all feel so powerless to change things, especially when we’ve grown up thinking of ourselves as a democracy, but in this century have seen such brazen stealing of elections by the elites and the party representing them.

I wish I had more to offer in the way of suggestions but I want to, with the deepest sincerity, ask that you NOT take any advice by people who tell you ‘don’t start trouble for others’.  YOU are important, too, and you have a divine birthright to be concerned about yourself and your loved ones and the future they will have. 

And sometimes, if you can be patient but at the same time, not procrastinating, if one can be steadfast and unpanicky in demeanour, and concentrate on a few known individuals they will come around.  If someone is too worried about their own lives to deal with something that WILL impact those lives (and bust the bubble of comfort they’re trying to wrap around themselves) you can perhaps offer, in some way, to help them, babysit for them, offer to do laundry for a working parent or help someone care for their elders, there are lots of inroads.  When you participate in someone’s life pains sometimes that person will take their guard down and admit how scared they are.  Frame discussion of it in ways that they don’t have to concede to you that you’re right and they’re wrong.  For more suggestions you might try meeting with your local 9/11 Truth group, because many of these folks talk about how to respond to the totalitarianization of our nation now, instead of just mulling over the conspiracies, figuring it is less important who was behind 9/11 than it is what lies in FRONT of today.

Unfortunately, there are so few people who WILL stand up for thier rights. Too few are aware that they even HAVE that right.I’ve talked to a lot of people about this very issue, only to be told that I’m being paranoid, that there’s nothing anyone can do,anyway. Too many people in this country are made to believe that they shouldn’t, or can’t, stand up for thier rights, or that the only way to do it is to take part in some little street-corner protest.

My own family members (the ones who aren’t rabid right-wingers) feel that all we have to do is get a Democrat back in office and it will all go away.So many people are too brainwashed to stand up for themselves anymore.And the ones who aren’t brainwashed are too afraid,and won’t risk even going to a protest- there are too many excuses not to. I hear “ I can’t, I have kids to take care of.” “I can’t, my health is too bad right now.” “ I can’t, I have to keep my job.” I’ve brought up Naomi Wolf’s work, among others, as a reason for us to pay attention, only to be told I should stop being so paranoid.

Even those who COULD stand up don’t, because they’ve been made too afraid already. I have a couple of relatives who will stop me when I start talking about politics on instant message, or on the phone- they know someone might be listening, and don’t want to be “red-flagged”. The moment I say anything bad about certain presidents, they get defensive, and tell me to change the subject.I’ve told them that as many anti-Bush organizations as I’ve joined, I’m pretty sure I already have a file somewhere, and I couldn’t possibly care less- that we have a RIGHT to speak out, and stand up, and if we won’t, maybe we don’t deserve that right. I’m usually told, at that point, not to “start trouble for others”. Sad, isn’t it?

So, yes, we HAVE to stand up and demand our rights back.But, how do we convince all of those who just don’t care, or won’t listen, that if they don’t stand up, they too will become victims, just like what happened in Germany, in Italy, and in all the other countries who followed the blueprints Naomi Wolf points out to us?

I agree with Faith… how did the company (Walmart)that many of us see as being the “End of America” with all its horrible practices, too numerous to go into, ever end up being the commercial for this screening???  Weird.

Apparently U.S.’s fear of opposition is what’s endangering U.S. democracy. Isn’t that paranoid and sociopathic? Maybe treating the country as a whole, from top to bottom for those ailments is what the U.S. ought to be focusing on now: a cure and not just a band-aid. Obviously the wound is getting infected. And what caused the wound to begin with? It’s time the U.S. gets real and quit skipping around the issue as to the true nature of the country’s infirmities. Something has greatly affected America. Who? Where? When? Why? America needs treatment. From WHAT? Really, what is going on? Does anyone care anymore? Are we suffering burnout? Find a CURE is all I say.

The shame of it all! We have liars and traitors in DC and no one, no one at all, will stand up in Congress to defend our constitution as it is picked apart by the Bush/Cheney cabul.
Unlimited wire taps without warrants, to include emails, and what does congress do? They pass a law to retroactively forgive these constitutional violations and allow them to continue. Aside from the fact that I do not understand how a piece of legislation can trump the constitution, I cannot understand how 535 senators and congressional representatives could rubber stamp this outrage! Executive signings?? Since when does the executive branch get to write or modify legislation that is clearly the duty of the of the legislative branch? Even trade agreements like NAFTA, CAFTA et al, are clearly treaties which according to the constitution must be ratified by a super majority of the Senate. Now the Bush adminstration, having refused to enforce any regulations on financial institutions or corporations, is using the financial disater that has resulted to , in effect, nationalize many of these failing institutions. What is next, martial law?
The American people must wake up to what is happening to our constitution and our rights.

I live in new zealand and would love to see this movie .Naomi Wolf “gets it” as do millions of other Americans but the “masses” only seem to watch Fox News for their view of whats really happening.I can remember a time when America was looked up to ,not despised and feared as it is now.After the events of 911 the world was ready to assist the American people in any way possible to bring to justice the perpetrators of that tragic day .But your own Government had to be harassed to investigate the crime committed on 911 and finally after 441 days authorized an investigation .Which they then installed people of questionable qualifications to run.They budgeted less monies for the investigation than was spent on Clintons involvement with an intern by a factor of 10.Almost 3 thousand people died on 911 and it directly and indirectly lead to two wars and that’s the best America can do ? I think not ,hundreds of pages written by the “911 Commission” but not a mention of WTC 7 ,a 47 story building that collapsed into it’s own footprint at 5.20 P.M on 911 even tho it was never hit by an airplane .
I watch footage of American towns where you see every other house flying an American flag with pride ,is that pride justified or just the result of indoctrination ?

Naomi is right on. I’ve watched her lectures on youtube about a year ago and they have really opened my eyes to what is happening. I don’t understand how so many people can sit by and watch as all of our freedoms are taken away. We will never get them back!
I am afraid this truly is the end of America as we know it.

There has come a time in every American citizens life when the veil of illusion can be lifted, some will fight this revelation tooth and nail because of the discomfort and purgatorial sense of vertigo that it brings. Others will embrace it and fight to set it right again. I actually bought 2 copies of the book. One for my family and one to loan out to my neighbors. It is THAT important.  I am a descendant of two of the signers of The Declaration of Independence.  It sickens me to see what has been allowed to happen in our country because we have become so caught up in keeping up with our neighbors our liberties have been hijacked. It must stop “We The People” are the future of this country NOT the politicians or the people who own them. It is our duty as citizens to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

This will take a united front in what will mostly prove to be an uphill battle to re-establish the Constitution and regain our freedoms.  Congress must once again be made to serve the people that elect the members instead of the lobbyists and special interests groups.  MSM must be made to print the news and not propaganda.  Unconstitutional laws must be revoked and the rule of law must be made just and reasonable for all.

Naomi Wolf is right.  If you have not yet read her book, you should.  Once again, our country needs us, not in Iraq or Afghanistan, but right here at home, to fight for the freedoms our parents and our grandparents fought for, from Anzio to Iwo Jima, from the Argonne Forest to Berlin.  Our freedom, our Constitution, our entire history and way of life is being destroyed by the neofascists behind our politicians.  We need to mobilize a counterforce in our politics and put real pressure on these New World Order storm troopers, our all that we and our ancestors fought for will be lost.  If you want your children to be free, fight, before it’s too late.

Having read the book, I was already familiar with the themes presented in this film.  However, I think this is an important, time-sensitive, and succinct message that we must spread to as many people as possible and as far as we can.  This message is too important to put on the back burner or on the shelf.  Our liberty depends on it.

How disappointing that I can’t see this because I live in Canada! 
I find it more than a little ironic that the viewing of a film about the growth of ‘undemocracy’ is controlled by the undemocratic copyright laws powered by the very government and corporations that are under fire in this film. 
The cancerous growth of copyright over the last few decades, including the recent draconian laws just passed in the US, is a very powerful tool in the control of thought and the free exchange of ideas.
The control of the flow of information is central to the control of our lives.  Surely SnagFilms can do better than this!

Whether you agree with the details presented here or not, I find that I cannot disagree with the conclusion.  I hope that through viewing, discussing, and acting as citizens of a free country, we can work through the process of undoing so much of the harm that has been done.
