Thanks for this unique sociological and historical view of baseball, not to mention the excellent film footage from the past!!

I loved watching this film.  What a fantastic and inspirational man he was. I would have to agree with Jackie Robinson - he was “all class”.

They are now in the process of tearing down his old stomping grounds, Tiger Stadium.  Watching this gives us a chance to see firsthand what made the stadium was so great.

Robert--You don’t have to make excuses or defend your comments about Greenberg. You’re right, whether Jewish or not and even if you were wrong, you’d be entitled to your opinion. It’s not only Jews that speak up on Greenberg’s behalf, just as Jews speak up for Ruth, and whites speak up for Jackie Robinson. We don’t have to worry about being so politically correct. This is America where everyone is entitled to their opinion, as long as that opinion doesn’t incite hatred. Then it borders on a legal or constitutional issue. Otherwise say your piece and know you have the right to say it--regardless of whether you’re a Jew like Greenberg or a non-Jew who LIKES him.

What a rip off for our Troops overseas. It will sure show the whole advetisement ;however, not one second of the feature. Then again, perhaps this is just more anti-semitism?
Would not want to offend anyone with the story of a wonderful human being that happened to be of the Jewish faith.

Hank was every bit as good of hitter as the “Babe”, he would have broke the Ruth 60 HR record when he he hit 58, but the last couple weeks the Pitchers would not pitch to him.  They said they did not want no G/D Jew breaking the Babes Record.  What a shame.  Again Hank did not have the front page and fame as others because he was a Jew.  No Iam not Jewish and just sticking up for him because of his religion, Iam sticking up for him as a Great Ball Player and Person.

Hank Greenburgh was one of the greatest ball players that ever lived.  He will ever be remembered as one great Americans that fought for the right of others.....

A terrific story and an excellent film!  The true life tale of one of baseball’s greatest players from the golden age of Amercian sports.
