SnagFilms To Provide IMDb Visitors With Instant Access To Streaming Documentary Films
Washington, DC, May 21, 2009 - SnagFilms, which brings the best nonfiction films to the web audience, and IMDb.com, the Web’s most comprehensive and authoritative site on movies, television and celebrities, today announced that IMDb’s 57 million monthly visitors will be able to access a significant part of SnagFilms’ library from IMDb’s site for free.
Through the arrangement SnagFilms and IMDb intend to increase the viewership of documentary films while enhancing the user experience at IMDb.

Offering free, streaming access to those film fans who come to IMDb pages searching for a particular film gives new meaning to on-demand viewing and is one of the many reasons we are so excited for this arrangement,” said Rick Allen CEO of SnagFilms.
“At IMDb we have a goal: A play button on every page. We want our users to be able to watch or access every movie and TV show directly from an IMDb page. Starting today, a relevant selection from SnagFilms’ library of more than 700 titles will be made available for instant access via the film or directors page on IMDb. As the association grows, links to the library will be more deeply integrated into IMDb, including embedded links on pages for producers and other participants in the documentary film industry.
Documentaries from SnagFilms can be accessed with a single click from IMDb pages. As always, once viewers are watching the film at the SnagFilms site, they can also opt to “snag” it to their website, Facebook page or blog.
