9500 LIBERTY documents the first time in U.S. history that an Arizona-style immigration law was actually implemented, and the surprising grassroots opposition that led to its repeal. Racial tension and threats of violence erupt when Prince William County, Virginia adopts a law requiring the police to question people who appear to be undocumented immigrants. Supporters of the law ride a wave of hysteria to an election victory. But many reconsider when the local economy feels the impact of a sudden exodus of workers, consumers, and business owners. Despite fears of reprisal, a group of concerned citizens launches a "virtual resistance" using social media, setting up a final showdown with the law's ferocious advocates.

A moving example of what a humble documentary can tell people about.

Leader of the Save Us from Brown People movement quotes the bible as proof elected officials are there because god's plan and even slavery was god's plan so Southern whites could "learn from the struggle." If illegal immigrants are stealing white jobs, why aren't these 'patriots' going to immigrant-heavy job sites and demanding ID from every brown person working meat-packing plants, picking fruit, pushing lawn mowers, cleaning hotels and changing diapers of white babies? So much to think about in this doc that I watched three times just to better absorb it all.

I have to agree with Hugh Phillips. As a white, disgusting racist pig myself I gotta say these idiots reflect badly on we white trash in general. I'm embarrassed.

I learned a lot from this. Didn't realize how much negativity there is out there on immigration.

Very nice film, and I've got to say that illegal immigrants should not be here and welcome to legal immigrants, but I've also *got* to point out that for those people trying to get here legallly, our system destroys families. My wife and I were separated for about 1 1/2 years while she was waiting for her immigrant visa. I have another friend who was separated from her husband for 3 years. We know of another case in which the spouses were separated for 9 years. Think of it: 9 years! That is a human rights violation. Actually, the "mere" 1 1/2 years that my wife and I were separated while waiting for a visa is really also a human rights violation. I have another friend whose parents divorced while waiting for a visa; they just gave up after about 4 years. The countries involved in these examples? UK, Philippines, Thailand, Russia - but that shouldn't matter. While I don't like illegals coming here and getting welfare at my expense, I also feel compassion for people who are hard working and just trying to make life better for themselves and their families, and the legal immigration systems is so entirely messed up. I wish I had polite words for the USCIS, but I've encountered lots of bureaucracy at its worst in dealing with them. They are responsible at least in part for many broken families. The US as a champion of human rights and a nation of immigrants? We have a bit of an issue with hypocrisy to deal with, unfortunately. Fix the immigration system so that it's speedy, efficient, and fair, and remove the incentive for illegals (welfare and so on), and then we'll be justified in putting up a fence if that's what we want to do. Keeping illegals out is fine, but breaking up families while they try to pursue legal avenues is not fine. Fix the latter, and then, and only then, will there be moral justification for the former.

Please take the time to watch this OUTSTANDING documentary! It will be well worth your time, as it will give you something to think about. We ALL need to come together as human beings before we can come together as a community! But, there must be RESPECT from ALL involved. But to gain respect, we cannot have our "hands out"! We must ALL do our parts as LEGAL US citizens, "working" together and that means...with jobs! Please, lets ALL do our parts to make this a safe, secure and legal nation...ONE nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice...for ALL! With God as our beacon, we can overcome darkness!

well, it is not going to get better... tension is rising why? we are loosing the battle of economy.. please research we are just get in to the point, this is somebody fault white Americans are getting racist against minorities (all kind not only Latino, Asian, black, Muslims or middle eastern people ) but also I seen white american against black american community (hate is spreading) why? I agree with this man in the begging about yes we need to learn English I'm from Costa Riica living in California.. and let me tell you thousands are moving to my country and we think the same please learn Spanish... Also as a immigrant I need to respect the law if I want to leave here, but don't judge me because I''m brow, my religion, or the way I walk. I came here to be succesfull respect the law. and bring happiness to my family.

There is nothing wrong with trying to protect one's community from danger, but to slap in the face a certain group of Americans with baseless laws is an insult to brown Americans. When law makers design laws without taking into account all Americans, that law maker is not a true American. When an American devalues another American because of the languages he or she speaks is not a morally good American. In America there is no room for hate. We are one nation protected by a higher power and that higher does not like hate. If you hate so much then move to China or somewhere where hate is the norm.
