  This flick is a real dissapointment. I mean how hard could it be to find a compelling case of a child growing up undocumented. The girl in this film speaks english and got a free high school education safe from domestic violence. Its just way to hard to believe she finally realized her situation the day she applied for city college and needed a ssn. On top of this she's racist for god sake. In her case i say the U.S. is not foster care for the world and repatriate her. The wierdest thing was this kid just really doesn't like this country

  When I hear people talking about the US as being private property its kills me. Where do they think they came from! MARS? The USA is a hotbed of fundamentalists. This country scares me!

  Well said ikeeptime, to me the immigration laws at least as they stand today are one of the stupidest ideas on earth, right up there with hate and bombs While immigration laws might be useful if reformed, to keep out of a given area people that come into a country just to be criminals, deal and break the just laws (of which the present immigration laws are not part of) it is stupid to prevent people that want to work honestly from entering or living in a country just because they don't have a better education or just because they weren't so lucky as to be born there. And whoever says the contrary is a hypocrite, because save for Native Americans nobody and I mean nobody can say I was born in America for countless generations, you were just lucky and now you are behaving like a spoiled brat. There is a difference between being proud of your country and being a control freak as...le or one that buys into the "there will be no jobs for us" cr.p America is an amazing country, and it's amazing BECAUSE of immigration, restricting more and more immigration is just going to betray the freedom on which it was built. Whatever happened to "Give me the poor, the huddled masses, yearning to breathe free"? The Earth is one and we are all children of the Earth, and compartmentalize the possibility of a human being on a given part of the Earth is like caging animals in a zoo, the cage might be bigger or smaller, but it's still a cage.

  What country would you be living in now, eric, if the first of your ancestors to immigrate to the USA had been prevented from coming here. Are you Native American? If not,what is you ancestry? Are you German or Hispanic or Italian or Irish? Most likely you would have been born on another soil. Would you even have been born in that other country if your ancestor was kept there? Would your great grand parents have been killed in a war in europe or persecuted in another place. Would your father have been killed by the English in Ireland just decades ago? Or your whole family destroyed in China by a local war for land in the early 1800s? Just food for thought.

  One lesson we should all as US citizens learn is, Thomas Jefferson once shot a man on the whitehouse lawn for treason, today this would cover most all Congress. He also said, now listen close, if this country doesn't control it's borders, and only allow the good immergants who want to be US citizens, learn our language, respect our ways, and not take advantage of our redulicious give away policies. That is the only ones that can come here. So here we are no borders, no real protection of our language, Professors in our Schools of higher learning, teaching, and preaching, that captialism is bad, and we should all be some sort of Socialism or Communism.

  I just watched this movie in SFSU library. It takes us through 2 different undocumented women's lives; their struggles are different but they both suffer for being undocumented. Also it shows the racist anti-illegal immigration sentiments. It is really interesting.
