A young man from New York he enlists in the United States Army in the fall of 2003All That I Can Be follows William, a New York City youth and alumn of the Educational Video Center, as he enlists in the United States Army in the fall of 2003. William’s story offers an intimate portrait of a young person making his way in a society in which joining the military seems to be his best or only option for economic survival. His interaction with his recruiter calls into question the promises and realities of the U.S. military in post-9/11 America.
