  I can NOT believe the crap this tiny child's grandmother talks to her about. Sex, rich men, etc. Disgusting! And people wonder why she's likely to grow up and be pregnant before her 17th birthday. Poor kid to be raised by these people.

  I feel really bad for the circumstances in which she has to grow up in, she seems very bright despite her terrible surroundings. I just wish we could create a world free of poverty and ignorance.

  What a story, powerful! Autumn is so very intelligent. My 7 year old daughter thought for the life situation that they went through that this was beautifully presented. The life that they were living was not always easy and some of the choices were not the best choices no doubt. They were living real life. I love that they were honest with autumn, it seems to me that autumn is given the opportunity to make her own choices on what she thinks of a situation, provoking thought to figure out what is true and not true. Amazingly this grandma makes her listen, she demands that she learns, it may not be the way that others do it, but Autumn and her own children understood her way. Mom loves her daughter and you could see it all over her. She has a lot of learning to do yes, but who in this life doesn't. I applaud this documentary, I pray that Autumn is given the opportunity to serve the Savior. The part where the inmates were praising God (Jesus) was so very powerful. God has blessed this family, maybe not in the way that many would consider what a blessing might look like. Their tree of knowledge of good and evil issues (Bible- book of Genesis) may not be the same as ours, but they are overcoming theirs and helping some of us appreciate where we are. Thank you for your transparency. God sees and he cares. God bless you all.

  What an excellent film. This is why I love documentaries. You all presented the story of a family in a truthful way, and allowed us as viewers to experience their lives. You showed us the reality of Autumn's life. I admit, at times it was really difficult to watch, i.e, the grandmother talking to Autumn about sex and cheating, or watching Autumn's temper tantrum before her mother's interview. I think the grandmother thought she was helping Autumn by being so honest with her, which is good in a sense because Autumn will know that if she wants the truth about something, she can ask her. On the other hand, there are somethings that are clearly inappropriate. This film has me thinking about so many things, but mostly how I can become a mentor for girls/ young women like Nettie, Jasmine and Autumn. I wish for nothing but the best for their entire family and I hope wherever Autumn is in her life, she'll always have a copy of this film to remember that she has always been beautiful, caring, intellegent, worthy and funny girl.

  A starking reality that I am so lucky my children don't have to live. I make no judgments here. I know not how they learned the life they live and the world in which they exist. They may just be victims of a vicious and endless cycle. This Grandma is my age! She's so ignorant (and I'm not being rude) as she sits and smokes that cigarette, throwing her meds and guilt upon her children. Autumn...I hope they revisit you and hope for great things for you. You are so bright! I'm not religious but I know you come from a Christian and good family at heart and hope your God blesses you with the success you deserve. You may be the change your family needs and it's obvious that their hope for great things and love surrounds your every moment. That is a blessing in itself!

  this story has really touch me. before u can judge someone u have to actually be put into there environment. the father was not mention because he wasnt important, if i had money i would get them a house built and land paid for. looking at this made me realize to always lovve the ones that care about u ad the ones who dont even more. she is a sttrong and very beautiful lil girl and i hope her mother has learn her lesson and do her responsibilities ans stay out the clubs. autumn is a beautiful child that can have the role of a actor a movie star or just the role she play now. grandma i aplaude u for your goods that u did to help take care of your granddaughter even though she heard u say things that wasnt right for here poor little hears. you strong my sister and stay that way it only gets better!

  Omg this child is so smart and not to mention so sweet. They never mention anything about the father. How can anyone deny her! Shes so funny and ive totally fallen in love with her. I wish I could find out what ever happened to her.

I would do anything to stay out of trouble and be there for a child like her."" This statement is so backwards, that I can't even think of a reply that this person might be able to comprehend. All I can do is wonder how people can be so ####in' disconnected from reality

  This film brought tears to my eyes in a sense--- and it also made me laugh.The film gave me a mushy feeling inside. Autumn's life was not the greatest however, her wit and charm made the film worth watching two times. Despite what her mother was going through Autumn still had an amazing sense of humor, that made me think she is going to be a great friend to have when she gets older. Autumn has a wonderful personality! Autumn is charming and highly intelligent i especially enjoyed listening to her express her feels towards her grandmother in regards, to her mother spending time in jail. Can you put a smile on your face? Her grandmother replied: "not right now Autumn". Viewing life through a little girls eyes is helpful and it helps a grown up put things in perspective.Although Autumn's mother was not around she had a loving family that helped her in her daily life. I would have loved to see the camera follow Autumn to school to watch her interact with children her age. I wonder what Autumn is up to now? I hope Autumn is ok, and is getting the support she needs from her family. I also hope Autumn does become a DR one day i think Autumn would be a wonderful DR. TRIUMPHANT FOR Autumn! I aware that i don't know Autumn however, through this film i felt like i got to feel her pain and it is the little things that matter in life, her mother buying her hot dogs and and taking her to the toy store to buy her something, to catch up on missed times. I will always be rooting for Autumn in my heart. She moved me and made feel like my life is not is not all that bad.

  Camera work and audio is important, but this film steps far beyond that. To be able to enter into someone's life and capture it's true essence is a artful gift. The folks that created this film stepped far beyond the normal reality of filming and captured a slice of very real, very gritty life. They did an excellent job and treated this subject with respect and dignity. I offer my congradulations to the film makers.

  What a fantastic story, this little angel Autumn is so intelligent, the love her family gave this little angel is what famlies are all about, I am in the UK and will be sharing this with many others who share my same views. Thank god her mother did not go back to prison and hopefully never will again. I do hope Autumn sucucceeds in her dreams of becoming a Dr. Best of luck to all that took part in this film.

  I know that adorable Autumn WILL have a bright future.She is a very intelligent little girl who has always been loved. Growing up this way is hard and painful but it makes you strong. It broke my heart when her mother had the job interview. An excellent, touching documentary.

  Autumn has what she needs most -- a strong spirit and her family's love. I think she'll be fine. It broke my heart the morning her mother went off for the UPS job interview & Autumn didn't want her to leave, she was so afraid of her not coming back. I love how the film makers kept their interaction with the family down to the barest minimum & let the images and the dialogue between the family members speak for themselves. Great job!

  Honestly this film made me cry, I dont think many realize the stress that is put on our young. Autumn is a very wonderful little girl, but with such negativity in her life will she be able to really succeed. I hope she does, God bless her.

  I've seen so many families like this where I'm from in Detroit. You see the innocence of this child being taken away from her...its heartbreaking. She's so intelligent and amazing, I hope she keeps that curiousity within her and fight for her education. The family is doing what they can, people often put poor families down not realizing what they're struggling against. I hope the best for them all!!!

  They didn't have much in the way of material things, but there sure was a lot of LOVE in that family. Autumn has to be the most beautiful, and articulate 3 year old I have ever seen!

  God bless this family in their time of need, the Grandma is right God will not put no more on you than you can bare his will is for you to keep teaching that baby so that she may break this cycle,please continue to feed her mind about how important an education is so she maybe to own her own apple farm one day dreams do come true when you work hard for them ,I was crying as I watched this story your family is amazing please express to your son that selling drugs is not the answer a education is but I do understand he is forced to be the man of the family. Keep your head up to the sky cause God hears your cry.

  Touching and real. There are those times when life is very uncertain and day to day life is filled with loss and challenges it's important to be up front and honest about life's possibilities, bad or good. The mother had to be honest with Autumn.

  Jasmine is such a sweetheart! It broke my heart when she said she would send her mommy a Valentine! I have thought very seriously about doing foster care. I am very glad that everything worked out for Jasmine but I know there are others who don't have grandma and I would very much have liked to buy Jasmine that pink Care Bear and live on an "apple farm" with her! I am so impressed with her personality and that she doesn't show any signs of being neglected or abused. Her family is doing the best job that they can to provide for her and nurture her! I can tell they all love each other very much and that's what makes them successful. I am 44 and I know the grandmother is far too young to be in the shape she's in and to have all that stress. My prayers go up for the grandmother's health and for all of them to realize their dreams. I do wish Jasmine a happy life!

  My God...is this a 39 yr old woman telling a 3 yr old child that she needs to get a man who can give her sex like she wants so she won't cheat and he will then beat her up, maybe kill her? I realize that the area they are in is rough, but a 3 yr old shouldn't be even worring about stuff like this. I am amazed at how intelligent this child is, knowing about cops see you smoking weed they will get you...it's just so sad that she has to worry about these ADULT problems.
