  Why is all the burden of fertility placed on the female? This lady's sister had TWINS. While her husband's family had only a single child. For all we know, her husband is infertile. The lady probably has regular menstruation otherwise she would know something is wrong. AND she's young. SO it probably IS the husband.

  For the love of... Somebody tell these people the Y chromosome is only in the sperm. The gender of a baby is decided by the sperm. What does it have to do with "getting another wife"? It' ridiculous that they teach girls to believe they are less than male. Any future daughters that I have will be highly educated and know they're not second class citizens to anyone. My grandparents were "traditional" too and because my grandmother had lots of girls, she was mistreated by her in-laws. As a result she desperately wanted a boy (she even had boys). But in her old age, she always said daughters were closer to her heart and better caretakers and sons aren't necessarily better.

  The other poster is right. the MAN dertermines the sex of a child. so he may as well stay with his wife . she loves him has given him alll those children.. if he marries another women she may also produce more girls... Are women there nothing more than mere baby making machines?

  I wonder why the camera person/director didn't think to tell the woman who wanted a boy that the sex of a child is determined by the male?
