  I actually thought the commercial interruptions enhanced the message of the film. There were some really fitting ones in my case: Shortly after mentioning the consequences of overpopulation and consumption, there was a "Huggies" commercial featuring a lawn full of babies crawling around. Also, in the middle of the segment about instant gratification, there was a Dove chocolate commercial featuring a sensual close-up of a sexy woman placing a piece onto her tongue. The film was a bit long, and quite redundant. Albert Bartlett and William Catton were the most interesting "talking heads". The graphs displayed were up for too short a time and weren't elaborated on enough. I'm already familiar with them, but I'm afraid most people wouldn't be able to appreciate their significance. I am glad this wasn't a shockumentary, which would work against it. Thank you, Amanda and Adolfo. Will you pay for my vasectomy?

  Blind Spot is a cogent sounding impressively informative look into the guts of why global trade and the West's penchant for purchasing everything on credit all the while being able to ignore that species are going extinct at an alarming rate, that we are creating an unlivable world by continuing to use petrol at an alarming rate, that we are at war over oil in the Middle East using Middle Eastern oil against its own people, that when the backlash from this over-consumptive jag that Americans have been on for nearly a century actually hits, it will hit hard and sudden. For instance, the fresh water ice sheets sitting on continental shelves are melting at an alarming rate, and if the worst possible scenario is forthcoming, ocean water levels could rise as high as seventy five feet above their current levels. Yikes! If you listen and watch this film, it could change your life, but I know that it will definitely put a pit in your stomach.

  I love how blind the citizens/consumers I fight for can be, got to love America. As a Senior Airman (E4) I have to admit peak oil is true! To the blind, if it was not true, why are major oil corporations spending billions and billions to find new sources? You got to laugh when you hear, "drill baby drill," when that's what we've been doing for the past 40 years and came up short. We've been giving billions of tax dollars to the oil corporations to find out they discovered only 30-800 million barrel sites that dry up within a few months to a few years(Alaska was our reserve site but its close to peak). Why is this the governments #1 agenda? Answer, because its a real problem! Every continent is now using oil/oil products/vehicles even Africa and there is not enough to go around, period! If you can't find it, then take it. For the people that think we have so much oil then find it, refine it, then try to sell it for a low price; don't forget to stay in the black after you spend the billions locating it and if enough, making it usable. Also to enlighten you after we have possession of a certain country's resources, we are not only going to use it for our advantage, but also sell it. In order to sell it, we have to consume less. Did a light come on in your head yet! July 27, 2048 oil will be a thing of the past for civilians and only used by the military(aka go green). You can ether except the truth and adapt or fall behind, your choice. The GOP had this planned during the 60's when they knew the US Oil would peak in the 70's. Our CIA put someone in power to make sure that his country's people don't use their own resources and export its resources for us to use for a low price. To bad he tried to change gears at the end and tried to become an independent nation and use the oil for his own people, we put a stop to that. Funny how that country had nothing to do with a major attack, but the one on the right not the middle did and was ignored for sometime during our nation building. Maybe the nation in the middle was at war with the nation on the left to try to take our claimed resources. While there fighting lets take back the left, heck the one on right did attack us, or was it a group, who cares. Lets take the right and left then stop trade to the one in the middle, take all there resources/trade route and sell our way out this debit(hint us a map I.I.A.). I learn all I needed to learn at Camp Anaconda and out in the field, Good-luck!

  Wow, I'm in college and from a humble upbringing. The separation between the two is astounding. Learning about these issues really makes me wonder just what to do with myself. I think everybody needs to see these sorts of informative docs., the leadership especially. Me, well I know what they mean about our habits changing and whatnot, I can actually feel myself getting dumber, maybe it's all these gadgets doing something to our heads.

  28:50 is truly a disgusting scene. People not even bothering to eat the food that has taken thousands of calories in energy to produce and transport. Instead, they take a bite then throw the rest in the trash. What a greedy, worthless, visionless species. No pity at all. The earth will get rid of most of us and that is exactly the fate we deserve. In fact, the sooner the better IMO.

  97% of manufactured goods are made out of oil thats apart from running cars on the stuff and its unlikely that a major oil company would wish to push peak oil as that would be like telling everyone their business is doomed . and the alternative ways to run cars do not scale up to anyway the scale we do with fossil fuels . my dad told me about peak oil 30 years ago when he was a engineer in saudi its real

  The CEO of ExxonMobil was on TV a while back and he made the statement that we would not hit peak oil in his lifetime nor in his childrens or his grandchildrens lifetimes. It's time to start tapping into our oil resources in Alaska, the Bakken field in North Dakota and our huge supply of coal. I struggle with this reasoning daily as I believe that yes, the population problem is the fundamental issue that stands before us today, even more so than the nuclear threat. I just don't want to be one of those (nor my family and friends) in the herd that is culled. This movie, I think is safe to assume, is part of a larger plan than exists called Agenda 21. It is blueprint for the 21st Century, a plan of action that is already working its way in American government and life. This of course pertains to all other countries as well. To sum up it, a world envisioned by the global elite and the intellectuals from the universities who give reports of the environment, the resources and the population (usually the conclusion in their books, finger pointing to population as the main culprit), to the world councils who are the main drive behind environmentalism, is a world to be based on absolute scientific control of humanity.

  Not only will melting ice sheets cover existing land above water, it will also shift the weight of the planet in a way that will create new sources of earthquakes, volcano's, tidal waves and more.   As long as there is water on the earth, there will be oil in the earth. There's no shortage and they know water is oil filtered down from above bonded with carbons. Thats why they are power grabbing water rights and will control oil from that point. Oil is water molecularly converted by heat and high pressures within the earth.

  Abiotic oil? "standing columns of wave energy"? Global Warming is bull####? How indicative of the mass of the Americans who understand nothing about oil or energy other then the gasoline they crave when and where they want it and at a price that does not max out their credit cards. These are the numbers that matter, nothing else: In 1950 the world population was 2.5 billion, today it is 6.8 billion which means population has almost tripled in just 60 years. What do American's think will happen to population growth in the next 60 years? American has 350 million people out of the 6.8 billion or just 5% of the world's population but we use more then 27% of the world's oil and gas. Do American's think they can sit on their behinds and believe this lack of balance of energy use between countries is going to keep going like business as usual? Do American's have any idea the billions in dollars China is investing in its own solar industry at the same time it scours the world and cuts oil and natural gas deals at will? All while people in this country play some zero sum game of moronic politics which is destroying us? Tell me when gasoline is racing past $10.00 a gallon that Peak Oil is nothing but smoke and mirrors.

Whenever I see oil, I burn it... that's what its for. I also use it to lubricate things, but I really dig burning it. I and others like me will always thumb our nose at you idiots. I will put as much carbon into the atmosphere as I can. Carbon is good. Oil is abiotic. There's LOTS of it and it renews. Quite worrying about it. Fools. Man made Global Warming is complete bull####.

  Maybe we can run cars on TIDE, it sure helped run this film....Loose Change, Blind Spot; guess it is a trend. I had to shut this film down after I saw the expert texpert with the curl right in the middle of his forehead. Why? Well many reasons and I may come back and finish it. I did enjoy the Shell film oddly enough but the premise that we are running out of oil is just so stupid that all I can hope is that at the end of this film you will mention the fact that there is more oil in Alaska than all the fields in the Middle East. I am sure Shell loves this film at least. Peak oil....oy vey. Before isrHELL started that war in 1973 all the Arabs wanted to do was sell us cheap oil. NIce scam.

  The fellow at the beginning said words to the effect: "imagine pushing your car for 18 miles when you can power it to go that far for around $2.50 of gasoline. Two days of manual labor vs. $2.50 of fossil fuel" This is the type of logic that says we have "Global Warming". I'm certain that if I were driving along and my car ran out of gas that I would walk. If I couldn't afford the gasoline or the car, I would buy a bycycle and walk also. This type of (sic.) 'logic' the the fellow expouses, only serves to put us in a position to have to walk or ride a bycycle. The japenese have developed and marketed a car that runs on hydrogen taken from water from a device inside of the car. Of course we could do that here as well. A movie about the reason why we don't would be alot more interesting.

  Oil is abiotic and not a fossil fuel, deep drilling through basalt rock well below the fossil strata is finding oil, Russia went from being an importer of oil to exporter of oil on this well known fact that oil is ABIOTIC and just requires deep drilling to tap.

  Dear Adeel, I and many others in the West (including Americans) will share your anger at the disproportionate consumption of the Earth's resources by people living in the USA. I also need to tell you I have visited your part of the world and while I enjoyed my travel experiences there, often found myself overwhelmed by the multitudes of people thronging the landmass of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. India's population in 1947 (at independence) was just 350-million. Yet by the early 1960s, that number had already doubled to around 700-million people. Despite being the first country to impose large-scale birth-control policies, India's population reached the 1-Billion mark in the year 2000 (officially that is). As India can no longer count its population, we no longer have an accurate measure, but it must be more than 1.2-Billion already. India, as a consequence, is now an open sewer. Most of its ground water is contaminated. Pakistan's population also mushroomed over the same period. Furthermore, more Arabs have been born since 1970 than ever lived prior to that year! And if all that wasn't enough, Africa's population continues to expand at exponential rates despite decades of poverty, famines, and wars. Pakistan had serious social problems long before criminal NeoCons in America sent troops into neighboring Afghanistan to wreak havoc and sow yet more enmity. Don't you think its time you all tried to grow up and take charge of your own problems? Such as over-population? You can't keep blaming other nations for your own problems and failures. That game is over. Many Americans know what is wrong with their country, but do Indians and Pakistanis know what is wrong with theirs? Delhi somehow found the money and resources to launch (recently) a space probe to the Moon, yet India is home to more social problems (and illiteracy) than Africa! Do you people really think you can keep moving to Europe and the USA to take professional jobs from indigenous people there, just so you might conveniently avoid facing up to why your own countries are basket cases? What is more polluting? The emissions of 100,000 SUVs speeding up and down Route 66 in the USA, or the tens of thousands of tonnes of heavy metals being poured into the River Ganges each and every year? Pakistan's once free flowing river systems were destroyed by your over-population decades ago; long before the SUV. If the "Will of Allah" is your only birth-control then you are in deep trouble.

  This documentary rests on the premise of 'Peak Oil'. Peak Oil is a nonsense. Oil is abiotic. It does not come from plants and dinosaurs. Russians are drilling the stuff 10 miles down. This doco is a NWO propaganda piece. Humans are bad, modern lifestyle is bad, carbon is bad, oil is bad, blah, blah, blah...... These people would have us a few of us living in caves whilst the elites inhabit palaces. This is the message of the Georgia Guide Stones. This doco is a NWO hit piece.

  This brilliant movie educates, sobers, inspires and humbles anyone who cares about the future. As a civilization, we must move quickly to educate our citizens and leaders to move toward alternative energy at breakneck speed. Additionally, we, as a species need to move toward population stabilization in the USA and worldwide. If we don't, Mother Nature will stabilize us and her methods prove brutal. Frosty Wooldridge

  Dear American viewers, Fear not! Your government is effectively pillaging the rest of the world to keep your SUVs going! Much will probably not change for you for another couple of 100 years. It's the wretched 3rd world people who have to pay the price for not being so 'developed'. So, enjoy the good life while it lasts. :) p.s: yes you can!

  If this blind spot is true, and i belive it is, our world as we know it is not going to change slowly over the next 50 or 100 years. We have all seen what happened when oil went over 100 dollars a barrel. Imagine life after the peak of oil. Maybe 200 million Americans out of work unable to afford food and fuel and eventually housing. This isn't 50 or 100 years away this is 5, 10 maybe 20 years away. Possibly in less than a year or 2 if instability causes a bottle neck in the oil supply. Now is the time to act and try to protect ourselves from this threat. Stop listening to the people who say its gonna be OK and act to protect yourself and the people we love. The spread of knowledge is paramount in this effort.

  Is this film available for viewing? Someone recommended that I view the environmental documentary film, "Blind Spot", on this snagfilms website, but it doesn't appear to play in any format.
