I can’t watch anymore of this film. It is all over the place, instead of sticking to the thesis the narrator stated at the beginning. Atop that, it states several inaccuracies and uses anecdotal evidence instead of scientific facts. I do believe that mankind is largely responsible for our current climate change, but this film does not add to that understanding.

Okay, yes it is a beautiful landscape. But if you go and check history you will see that there was an ice age way back when, or hey did we cause that too. I don’t recall any electricity, vehicles, powered boats/ships and a way to get to the moon when all that happened. The enviroment is changing, slowly, not fast, as you would like for us to believe. Its always has, since Christ created it and us.

What I saw in the film was a dynamic step toward a very prosperous future. True the old ways of self-sufficient living are disappearing. Would these changes take place reguardless of the climatic changes? I think they would. It seems to me that people everywhere want the goods and services of an industralized society and to get them they are more than willing to accept the accompanying social problems. The goal is maxamizing the positive aspects of development whole limiting the negative. Change is and will continue to take place in the high arctic the challange for the local elders is not stopping change because they cannot, but directing it in the most positive direction possible.
