John Cassavetes career as an independent filmmaker is told through his own words and from interviews with twenty artists and friends. The first half thoroughly examines Cassavetes' unique approach to character and performance. The second half brings to life Cassavetes' deep humanity in chapters about family filmmaking, storytelling, and the tools of transformation.
