  lol i do this sometimes just because i feel i rely on my computer WAY too much. like u guys said we use computers for pretty much everything u need. i actually love being without a computer. it makes u live.

  This was interesting to say the least. I'm 43 and work in web design so I may be a little more savvy than the average 43 year old. I thought the segment where Chel had no clue how to use the typewriter was hilarious. Have we become so dependent on instant information that our kids need help figuring out how to use a typewriter? I've heard teachers say that young people now have the worst handwriting they've ever seen because no one hand writes anything anymore. Second graders spend more time learning keyboarding than handwriting. Is our ability to think eroding away as well?

  This is really pathetic. I hope that these students don't have to encounter any bigger problems in their lives other than computer deprivation. I doubt they could handle it. Bored??? Don't know what to do without your computer? How about doing your homework, volunteering in your college community, getting a haircut, or working a campus job? How about enjoying the MN outdoors? For such a prestigious school, these students seem rather clueless. And BTW, posting your relationship woes/emotions on a blog seems like one of the most selfish things ever. Do you honestly think a lot of people want to read that. Look at the wider picture...the outside world...and start thinking of something other than yourself.

  I think this would be a great video to use in my Leisure in Society class...we've talked about the concept of time in there and this video shows those concepts "up front and personal"!!!! It was so interesting to see these students struggle with "freetime" and beig bored and what you do with your freetime....How much do you have? I really enjoyed the Facebook Live segment the students did....

  Sezyou: I think that's the idea, yeah. Just 10-15 years ago you didn't HAVE to touch computers the entire time you were in college. That's undeniably different now; and I think part of the draw of this movie is recognizing that maybe that's a little messed up.

  Wow, I know at 36 I'm a lot older and out of touch with 20 year-olds, but honestly I'm ashamed of the world these kids exist in. I barely touched computers the entire time I was in college (91-95). Sorry, but these people come off as whiny, spoiled infants. What are they proving, that their generation is completely entitled and pampered?

  I can relate to this because I just went a week and a half without my computer while it was in the shop for repairs. I'm also a college student and study computer networking and programming. I was taking CompTIA A+, Network Security, Programming Concepts, and English at the time.

  I also am an addict. It started with beer after my mom died, I was 13 years old. Then it escalated to weed, then for a brief 3 month period in 1991 crystal meth. We called it getting spun. I can not undo the damage I did back then but I can tell you it lead me to prison. God bless you all, Shalom.
