Enemies of the People

Enemies of the People
1:34:00 | 2010

Categories: Documentary, Award Winning, War, Festivals

One of the most harrowing and compelling personal documentaries of our time, ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE exposes for the first time the truth about the Killing Fields and the Khmer Rouge who were behind Cambodia?s genocide. More than simply an inquiry into Cambodia's experience, however, the film is a profound meditation on the nature of good and evil, shedding light on the capacity of some people to do terrible things and of others to forgive them.

I saw it and was as usual appalled by what people can do to others. The narrator lead is a very moving person.

It is very hard to watch and takes me to hiking times as a Boy Scout in NC in the '60s during the Viet Nam War and seeing poverty you can't believe was existing then in the United States. We do live in a time when it is Sopranos economics. We get highways and war. We might get some healthcare?

A unique perpetrator-driven look at state sponsored killing that drives right into the heart of the Khmer Rouge killing apparatus.

Seeing the killing fields in person made this even more intense for me. Cambodia is such a beautiful country with wonderful people, it's so hard to believe how recent in history this all occurred.
