Northern Fur Seals - Feeling the Heat with Jeff Corwin Synopsis

In this episode Jeff Corwin and Defenders of Wildlife hang out with the highly playful and charismatic fur seals at the New England Aquarium while Jeff details the repercussions of a warming ocean and the negative impact it is having on the fur seals as it drives the fish and prey that they need to survive further from shore and into deeper cooler waters.

Through this entire series, Jeff Corwin brings his love of animals and a wealth of knowledge from years of travel and exploration to the screen as he shares his own experiences and first hand accounts of the detrimental and devastating effects climate change is having on our planet's wildlife. This series is made up of 11 videos, featuring the polar bear, sea turtles, penguins, frogs, monarch butterflies, caribou, lynx, wolverine, coral reefs, fur seals, and lobster, and are supplemented by fact sheets with more in-depth information about each animal including fun facts, behavior, threats, and hope on Defenders of Wildlife's web page.

Climate change is one of the single most devastating threats to our planet's biodiversity and wildlife. It is estimated that over the next century the Earth will warm by as much as 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Animals will be forced to adapt or migrate to new areas to try and find suitable habitat in which to live. Some animals might not survive.
