  Cindy, Steve Susman is an attorney in Houston who the coalition of Texas cities and counties fighting these coal plant permits hired. Laura Miller was the mayor of Dallas, who along with the mayor of Houston, Bill White (who ran for Governor against Perry in 2010) pulled the coalition together.

  There were actually 19 permit applications moving forward or in litigation for coal-fired plants in Texas. TXU had 11 of those applications. They pulled 8 of those as part of a settlement in their takeover negotiations with KKR, but certainly brought up as an issue because of the communities working to defeat what would have been a ring of fire around the city of Waco with emissions impacting the communities as far north as Dallas.

  wonderful and inspiring. I'm currently teaching a group of 5th graders that their voice can make a difference against injustice, but we so infrequently get to see it work. Thank you to the producers and to the tireless mission of Susman and the Mayors of the other cities of Texas who didn't give up. So nice to see people from traditionally different sides coming together on an issue- and winning. Keep up the Fight!!!

  as a new Hallsburg, TX resident, I am so very proud to see what the people of this community have accomplished. As far as the mayor of Dallas, I say forget Sarah Palin and elect Susman!

  I kept reading about this film but could not find it anywhere until now. Great little film. Attempts (successfully) to tell an epic story in 30 minutes. Excellent Cinematography, interesting colorful Texas characters. And it's fairly even handed on the energy issues.
