  I AM A CASAUL MMO PLAYER, WHILE YEAH THEY ARE ADDICTIVE. I DONT FEEL LIKE IT CONTROLS MY LIFE. ITS JUST A GAME, AND I HAVE ALOT OF BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH MY SPARE TIME. I JUST CANT SEE HOW PEOPLE GET SO ADDICTED, LIKE THAT BLIZZCON STUFF, THATS JUST CRAZY TO ME.

  was a gamer during the early days...played a bit of everquest and asharons call after a while of grinding and questing...the games become rather tedious i tried wow...its made of the mind of an 8 year old...everything is spelled out for you... in the older games, it was really ez to lose track of time...not sure why wow players lose time...the game tells you how long you have been playing but whatever...if one is gonna be addicted to something...at least wow doesnt kill you

  MY RECOMMENDATION: WATCH Gamers is a very entertaining documentary about a unique culture in modern society. If you are a hardcore MMO gamer, pass on this; you'll invariably find something to your distaste. Otherwise, relax and enjoy this short trip into a different world. Footage from Blizzcon, comedian Jay Mohr, and a crazy guy found in a coffee shop will all keep you entertained. Though Gamers tends to maintain a light-hearted approach to its topic, the prevailing question throughout this film seems to be that of the negative addictive qualities of MMO gaming and how it can affect gamers' social development (or degradation). Interviews with professionals offer interesting viewpoints on the truths thereof, and compelling stories from ex-addicts provide insight of the real struggles that form the basis of the classic "gamer" stereotype. Overall, Gamers is a great introduction the what is current in the world of MMO games for the uninitiated. I believe that Ben Gonyo and his crew have accomplished something worthwhile in the realization of this film. This film is mot meant to be critiqued on its production merits, budget, or anything else. Put that aside and just listen to the stories being told.

  Don't waste your time on this film as the creator is clueless to what MMORPGs really are, apparently. This film merely takes a negative look upon a very popular game, not the MMO market as a whole as the title implies, in an effort to hop on a bashing bandwagon in order to gain more views. It should be apparent from the start that a 60 minute video clip isn't enough time to cover any amount of content for MMO gaming history. This guy is as generic and lame as the gamers he actually talks to and this is yet another pile of rubbish on the bash bandwagon by someone who wants to ride coattails rather then actually produce a quality product. My advice for him. 1)Write about what you know as you become much more believable. If your target audience is the non-gamer mouth breather PTA mother then your video clip was spot on. If your target was the gaming community then you just had a big swing and a miss. 2)Finish film school? Bad camera shots, too jumpy, bad selection of interviews, very one sided for a 'documentary', terrible cutting/editing. In summary... Don't waste your time as this is a steaming pile of poo.

  Documentary was entertaining, especially the perspective from game developers, who are totally a different breed of gamers then the "stereotyped" gamer... which was embarrassing to watch... ugh... so glad I'm in the former... not the latter...

  J.D. has to be my favorite interview in those whole film. That guy needs to lay off the ice coffee. I love all the negativity MMOs are getting. Another outlet of blame for society to place their personal short comings.
