  this short documentary was wonderful, great, simply fabulous. I gonna get my money and go to New Orleans. I felt at home. I would like to meet Deacon John. Is he married?   I love Deacon John's music and joie de vivre That being said - a couple of minor corrections. Hate to disagee with Deacon John, but "The Sheik of Araby" was written by Ted Snyder in the early 20s in response to Rudolph Valentino's hit (silent) film "The Sheik". It had nothing to do with Arabi, Louisiana. Check it out here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sheik_of_Araby Also the filmakers quote the lyrics of Roy Brown's "There's Good Rockin Tonight" to include the phrase "Deacon John" - in fact the words sungs are "Deacon Jones". Great music nonetheless. And Deacon John made a nice screen appearance on several episondes of HBO's "Treme" Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez!

  I recorded this film on my cable TV recorder. I've watched it over and over since it was first shown about two years ago. I watched it again tonight and finally, sadly, erased it. So now I'm watching it on my computer, knowing I can do so whenever I need my spirits lifted. It's one of the most joyful experiences I can have. Deacon John, how can I ever thank you. You have such a special soul that pours out of you! I've always loved this music and the musicians who played and sang it. Dr. John and Allen Toussaint are two of my favorites. I was privileged to visit New Orleans before the tragedy. I hope to be back some day and perhaps will have the pleasure of hearing you in person. Your dancing, also, is a beautiful thing to see. You move with such natural, relaxed grace! I hope you can all stay strong until your magical music city has healed.

  Thanks for the memories. I remember visiting my Grama (Mah Mah)when I was young, going to the shotgun duplex on Roman St.back in the 50's and 60's. Sure do miss her and all the good times. Nothing like New Orleans music, food and people.

  What an Awesome musical tribute to new Orleans and it's music! I had the pleasure of knowing and sharing the stage with Lee Allen and Knowing Earl Plamer. My Singing Hero is Chuck Carbo and one of My Favorite All Time Singers is James Wee Willie Wayne. Y'all have really hit home with this fine film! John Lee Williamson out here in L.A. Ca. and diggin this program!

  After spending last Sunday at Mother-in-Law's Lounge with Deacon John, then this afternoon being welcomed in his home, I had to sit tonight and watch this. He is the kindest, most humble gentleman I have met. He loves New Orleans and New Orleans loves him. Thank you so much for all of your contributions over the years. We hope that there will be many more to come.

  This movie is one of the best I have ever seen on New Orleans. The quality of content and production is to be praised. God bless Deacon John and all who participated in this project. You are the best of American history in the making. I am in awe.....of you all.
