Why do we find cats beautiful? Why are spiders horrid? The way an animal looks is a subject of eternal fascination for us. But the "right look" for animals often means the difference between life and death. This program examines our response to animals, and our fascination with their?and our?appearance. The beauty and grace of a catwalk on the African plains is breathtaking. On fashion show runways, models emulate a cat's style?and some even parade in their skins. The poor spider, however, suffers a different fate. It is turned into an object of fear and loathing for the crime of looking different.
