Human Nature:Family

52:03 | 1995

Categories: Documentary, Science and Environment

An animal's loyalty to its own family can be responsible for some of its most dramatic behavior.  We are aware of the fierce battles some of the larger mammals engage in to protect their packs and territories. Smaller creatures are no less fierce; the  soldier ants' devotion to duty often has fatal consequences.  We warm to the mother elephant gently caring for her calf for over four years, and the commitment of the whole herd to its well-being.
