  A beautiful film! Congratulations, and I hope you'll be able to continue your work. We all need to learn as much as we can about the ocean and its inhabitants, and how to preserve them. I write fiction, but the ocean has played a huge role in some of my stories.

  This was so lovely. The daily lives of so many people in the U.S. are filled with ugliness, banality, blindness. I felt so much more peaceful after watching this. But if most Americans don't even know how to appreciate beauty (and in fact mock it), they won't even know what we're losing when the last whale dies.

  Beautiful! Is there really anything left to say? All Whale hunting should stop Now! My Japanese friends....and then there is the butterfly comment,you smuck! Come to CAMDEN NJ humans are treated worse then animals never mind butterflies!

  Took my breath away. I had two opportunities to be in the water with dolphins, which both moved me incredibly-- but I would love to encounter them in THEIR OWN environment that way! I can to a small degree understand the feeling he described when the whales were looking right at him, making eye contact, because the second time I was in the water with dolphins, one of the group was a female whom the instructor advised to us "just leave her alone, unless SHE comes over to YOU"... well, she did come over to ME, and played with me the entire time we were there, totally ignoring the other visitors who had come to be with the dolphins. She and I were pretty much all to ourselves, and I knew there was some kind of connection which brought that about. How much more tremendous that feeling must be out in the wild, as the photographer was describing! Whales and dolphins are truly incredible creatures.

  Had the pleasure of a close encounter with a humpback in Maui.It was awe inspiring. Like looking into their soul, when they are looking right at you.Still remember that feeling

  Interesting... strange how that woman claims to be working to save the whales but is quite happy to have dead butterflies in a case behind her.... are they not worthy of saving either?

  Amazing person to document but wonder why you did not cover that he has exception/permit requirements to take the shots as important that people be aware they could not try this themselves without being in violation of the 1972 Marine Mammal Protection Act which prevents the harassment, capture, injury, or killing of all species of whales, dolphins, seals, and sea lions, as well as walruses, manatees, dugongs, sea otters, and polar bears.

  Look into thier eyes. Its not what is in front of you that blocks your way, rather whats inside that holds you back. Open your heart and allow yourself to "feel" what you are seeing. Its amazing.
