  Always enjoy seeing movies about the Beatles, and especially John their founding father. Without John there would have been no Beatles, and although John & Paul might have succeeded and flourished spearately...there is no denying their power together. They simply complemented each other as did the other Beatles as well...they were a four-headed beast that had tremendous charisma, and chemistry. Originally George Martin was not impressed by their musical ability, but signed them based on their chemistry & charisma. They had a sort of magic together...simply a modern miracle, or a twist of fate. I always marvel how it all came together each piece of the puzzle along the way. As if it were all pre-ordained or something...they were a miracle the likes of which we'll never see again!!! Thanks John we'll always remember you and all the other mop-tops as well. We were all robbed on 12/08/80...

  John was truly an amazing, and unique, individual. Always my "favourite" Beatle, I, for some reason, always felt closer to Lennon than the other three. I think part of it was his rebellious side, his willingness to say what he meant, his wittiness, and my relationship to his songwriting. Yoko was definitely a great influence on John, but disregarding her effect on "the group", all in all, it was to good effect. I think she was able to channel his inner demons in a "positive" way, helping him recognize the love and peace were the answer to the worlds troubles, if people would just LISTEN. He actually tried to make a "difference" in his own way, which is a lot more than I can say for most people. Lastly, you really cannot begrudge two people who were in love as much as John and Yoko were. The saddest part of his story, I feel, is that it seemed as though he was in the beginning of a another "re-birth", where being a good father and husband was all that mattered to him. This new found happiness also gave him the confidence to get back to the studio again and put out some great music. HE will ALWAYS be missed by me, and many others, and I believe the world would be a very different place without his contributions, both musically and socially. "All You Need Is Love", for sure

  John Lennon was/is, always will be my Hero! I lived by his words, his songs... I grew up Beatles & John Lennon.. I know the world misses him, I miss him so much more year after year. Still I cry with grief. ALL WE NEED IS LOVE -thank you John! We love you always & forever!! "Imagine all the people living life in peace".

  To me John Lennon will always be the Beatles! My son is named John Lennon, and he will always be in my heart. The world needs a John Lennon, especially now! Thanks to the film makers for putting another piece of the puzzle in it's rightful place. John was and always will be one of the great moving forces, at the head of the table, in the progression of mankind. He always inspired me, and continues to in my own music.   I saw the Beatles in 1965 in Chicago,Il at the International Amphitheater, now torn down.I remember when they came on stage. John was first, followed by George,Ringo,and Paul. The crowd cheered louder for John than the rest. In my opinion, John was the driving force behind the group. I believe millions of Beatle fans will agree. God bless John, wherever he is. Through the years, he inspired me through his music. Thank you John Lennon and Happy Birthday, John.

  this is respone to george's comments. Why take the discussion in that direction. We know your smarter than everyone else because your an athiest. And of course, you never miss a chance to bring it up in a discussion. No one I know would compare Jesus to John Lennon, especially Lennon himself. Lennon was a great musician who did his best work within the confines of a group. His first 2 solo lps after the breakup of the Beatles were excellent albums. He went through an inconsistant period during the mid to late seventies, but released an excellent lp just before his murder. I think he had a lot of great music left in him, if he only had the chance. The person who killed Lennon robbed the world of, in my opinion, some excellent music to come. It was such a shame, but to use this format to bash religion seems petty and misplaced anger.

  Jesus was a mythological character Lennon was a real person I have the same problem with these halfwits who make the comparison. I have a bigger problem with these delusional characters who have bought the fairy stories about Jesus.Rising from the dead, walking on water, bringing Lazarus back from death you must be joking.

  I was there, a few years younger but always there. While my friends listened to rock opera and watched Elton John's flaming shows I stayed rock solid to the fab four. In hindsight I have been proven true. The most creative, reflective and perceptive talent of our day struggled on in their own way. I know where I was when John Kennedy was killed; I know where I was when John Lennon was killed. Look at our fate without these great leaders. 30, 40 years later I am still shocked and saddened. I want my people back.

  Oh, puhleeze. Comparing the guy to Jesus throughout the film?! Give me a break, especially after that story about how he once beat up and almost killed a man because he was upset with something the guy was saying about Lennon! He was no Jesus; he was nowhere in the same spiritual league whatsoever, in my humble opinion. Where do people get these crazy ideas? Some of the people interviewed in the film seem to imply that Lennon himself was envious (now that's ironic!) of Jesus because he wished he were Christ; others, however, appear to have bought into the whole viewpoint and see Lennon that way as well. C'mon...he was a good musician in a good band...and that's it. End of story.

  I really enjoyed this documentary film on the Beatles and John Lennon. Having lived through beatlemania and been a screaming fan in the 60's, I was fortunate enough to have seen them play live in Cleveland. I pretty much followed their lives throughout their careers and so much of this film brought back great memories of those days. I think that when they parted ways as a group it was in the natural order of things. They had made their statements in their music and then moved on with their lives. My favorite Beatle was Paul and I feel that overall he has had the most prolific music career of any of the four. Even if John had lived a longer life he didn't seem to be on a path of a continuing music career. I never liked Yoko Ono and to this day still do not appreciate her. I remember that she had a child from a previous marriage, a girl, and that her ex husband took that daughter away.I think because of that Yoko didn't want John to have a close relationship with Julian. That is no excuse in my book for John's treatment of his son and his ex-wife, Cynthia. The day that John was shot and killed seemed like the end of an era for me and many of my friends. He was 40 and I was 30 at the time. I will always cherish my memories of the Beatles and the part they played in my youth. I think I know every word to every Beatles song. They were the greatest!
