  This is kind of a pointless film but ya work with what ya got. Ya don't spend a bunch of taxpayers dollars and and not cut together something. This was good in that it shows a very interesting man with a fascinating connection to this river... unfortunately near the end of his tripping days. The hunt for gold aspect grows old fast... what is with this need for manufactured drama? Gotta have respect for a 73 yr old man capable of that kind of portaging. Read "Dangerous River"... completely fascinating account of this man and his many adventures on the Nahanni. It is probably one of my favourite outdoor adventure books.

  This was a waste of time. It reminded me of Geraldo and Al Capone's "Vaults". Nothing there and nothing here. If I want to see a river I will go out my back door. I wanted to see and hear about the "Gold Mine". Maybe they should have made a documentary on how he made his boat and throw in a cabin or two. At least that would have been interesting. I am an old man and if I want to see an old man struggling to go uphill I will have my grandkids take videos if me coming up the basement stairs.
