  These old dinosaurs and a stupid ###### wants to disarm, so when we get hit with an attack we are defenseless. ####### stupid documentary, and nukes should never be disarmed. They in essence keep us safe.

  At the beginning of this important film George Shultz speaks of the horror and inhumanity of nuclear weapons. There is a millennia old tradition of banning horrible and inhumane weapons, in all major cultures. In recent times, chemical and biological weapons have been outlawed by virtually universal conventions and landmines and cluster munitions have been similarly banned in most countries. Yet, despite the vision of a nuclear free world projected by all who appear in the film, which is the as yet invisible mountaintop of which Sam Nunn speaks, there is no mention of the obvious need for a treaty or convention banning nuclear weapons. All the paths for getting there can be pursued while the mountaintop is made visible. The longer work on such a convention is delayed, the greater the risk of the catastrophe projected in the film.

  This film features four statesmen that have been at the forefront of nuclear weapons policy for decades. They recognize that eliminating nuclear weapons won't be easy and will take time. They share their personal perspective and provide excellent insight into why the world needs to pay attention to the dangerous threat from nuclear weapons. The film is a little long but worth watching.

  I think the film works *because* of who the speakers are. If their perspectives can shift, then so can--and will--many others. If you only talk to the people you agree with, change will never happen. I've actually seen the entire film, which many of the commentators below note that they haven't. I recommend the film and recommend people start with an open mind.

  This film is full of deception; front to back. The creators are evil war mongers and liers. These monsters are likely attempting to corner the market in nuclear fuel while making it acceptable to illegally invade even more countries. Nuclear power is green energy? Suckers! if you believe anything they say. Of course getting rig of nuclear bombs is a good idea; that is the bait. Everything else is spin, lies, distortions and omissions. What about the continuing illegal use of so called "depleted" uranium, being used every day in illegal invasions, "they" call war. This creates far more radiation and destruction than nuclear bombs. These "men" ARE the terrorists! Nearly all terrorist events since long before 9/11 were/are false flag, government and so called elite, sponsored/crafted events. If/when a nuclear bomb goes off in a city, like Kissinger hinted would happen within 10 years(he aught to know)...it is people like these monsters that arranged it; not some sheep herder living in a cave. P.S. "They" can't take away our rights; they can only violate them, and we have to allow it.

  I have only watched Colin's intro. "These weapons must never be used."..."The real threat is not from states that understand that you cannot use these weapons without inviting suicidal response, but by terrorist who do not care about suicidal response. Terrorist who are prepared to commit suicide themselves." [I disagree. I think that the fact government officials think that governments aren't the threat is proof they are completely insane. That type of ego driven thinking is the same threat as terrorists. Willing to disassociate one's action from any type of wrong or evil, is what was behind the U.S. bombing primarily the civilian populations of an already defeated country, Japan. I am 10,000% for completely abolishing nuclear weapons, not just "reducing" stockpiles to more manageable levels. Which I interpret to mean "make sure the U.S. government keeps some". These guys are all basically war criminals to one degree or another, overseeing the murder of 100,000s or even millions in their political careers. They might have significant information, but that doesn't translate into the desire to benefit humanity. Except that their perceptions of benefitting humanity seems to mean ensuring their ability to kill or threaten any culture, religion, ethnicity, political system or economy that even appears a threat to theirs. Nuclear weapons in the hands of anyone, any government, any religious leaders, any organization, any military are evil and a threat to human beings everywhere, including those on "their side". All nuclear weapons should be banned and declared illegal to make, possess, and use by international law and every country should create internal national laws to reinforce nuclear abolition.

  Having Colin Powell intro this film throws all credibility (and my want to watch it) right out the window. Don't waste your time on this.

  You want to stop terrorists from getting the bomb? How about eliminating the excuses they use for their fight? How about we stop killing innocent people which creates more terrorist and terrorist supporters? How about we stop abusing people and resources that create more have-nots? It's all well and good to want to reduce and elinimate nuclear weapons, but there is no committment to do what is truly necessary. Money and power is more important than this feel-good documentary esposes.
