Reminder of the Harvest of Shame documentary by famed reporter Edward R. Murrow in the 1950s. Shot in Belle Glade, Florida, just below Lake Okeechobee. This is prime reason that this type of industrialized farming in not the way food production should be done. Sadly, the soil in Florida called Muck is/was the richest organic soil in the US as it was/is the bed of drained marsh. It’s original draw was the fact that this naturally organic rich soil could produce so prolifically and year round due to it’s richness and Florida’s tropical climate. Industrialized farming has damaged the land and the population. Further, crops grown with such a high concentration of chemicals affect those who eat it the same way, only slower. I’m from Belle Glade, and back yard, balcony, or where ever you can, organic gardening is the way to go. America and the world is in desperate need of a paradigm shift. Globally we are under seige as remnants of the Hitler regime force Codex Alimentarius on governments throughout the world. Awareness and a return to simplicity and indigenous means of farming are the only things that will save us. Along with a cessation of industrialized farming with chemicals and these practices being rammed down the throats of governments worldwide.
