  I absolutely loved this film though I felt deeply saddened when they had to shut down the business. A powerful example of overcoming such difficult circumstances, the guts it takes in a society as the one they live in to stand up for themselves determined to live the life they truly deserve. I truly look up to these women.

  I watched most of this film expecting to see the great success that these wonderful women worked so hard for. It breaks my heart that it didn't happen for them. They deserve so much more from their society than they get. It is said that power corrupts and complete power corrupts completely. It is my belief that their menfolk have so much of the power that it twists their minds and their hearts and makes them arrogant, cruel and heartless as a society. Yet these women have tried to think outside the box men force them into, to be more than they are allowed to be. I am so proud of them all. Decades ago I knew a sweet, very intelligent and beautiful Iranian girl who invited me to her lovely home and fed me an amazing dinner that included her incredible homemade pickles, best I ever had. She had been forced by her family into a loveless marriage to a stranger who lived on her family's money, beat her repeatedly, knocked her down the stairs and broke her arm when she was pregnant, told his gorgeous wife that she was ugly and had "no face". She was a small girl but she proudly told me that she fought back! It is outrageous that men should force women to give up their children if they remarry, they have no right. I am quite sure that men that lose their first wife don't give up their children on marrying again. To force widows to choose between abject poverty and giving up their children is sick and very evil. My wish and hope for women everywhere is that they have the power to control their own lives, to be free and successful. May all these women receive joy and happiness, and the financial, political,and personal freedom they so richly deserve. This is an excellent film. Wish I could buy some of their pickles!

  these women live in israel. israel is a modern 21st century society...yet even there, muslims live as if they are in the 15th century the entire religion is evil

  I was mesmerized by this film and the lives of the women in it. What remarkable women with such determination and hope.

  a very heartwarming film, the ladies stayed at it longer than most would have. I certainly wish them all the best future. Even in societies where woman are still not expected to be independant, these women showed remarkable courage and perserverance. thank- you for this film.
