Returning home from a trip, Nathaniel and Troy find their dog Flynn near death suffering from necrotizing encephalitis, a degenerative brain disease. After numerous tests and treatments, the veterinarian delivers the bad news: there is no hope and it's best to euthanize their beloved pet. Unable to accept this, and with time running out, they desperately search for a way to save Flynn. In the process they discover that the effects of vaccinations may go beyond humans.
