Single? You're in good company. There are 100 million unmarried adults in America and for the first time ever, the majority of US households are headed by an unmarried person. Find that surprising? The simple explanation is that we marry later, divorce a lot, and live longer. But there's more to it than that. Our lives have become more complex, intense, and demanding. As a result, finding and maintaining a lasting relationship has become even more challenging: The accelerated evolution of women in the latter part of the 20th century has resulted in many more lifestyle choices for both men and women. We live in a youth obsessed, instant gratification, attention deficit world. Our expectations of finding the "perfect" partner and maintaining the "perfect" relationship have never been higher. The game has dramatically changed. Should you have a plan? Through insights from social historians, comedians, singer/songwriters and "real" people, SINGLE - A DOCUMENTARY FILM explores the growth of the unmarried population and the new challenges and complexities of finding a lasting relationship in today's crazy world.

Interesting film, but unlike some people, I don't think it's a problem that people are waiting longer to get married or not getting married at all. What if some of us don't WANT to get married? We have to get married anyway to make other people happy even though it'll make us miserable? I want to focus on traveling and my career, so marriage is not a priority for me. Marriage is not for everyone.
