The idea of a “giver” doesn’t really solve anything. So you take the world as a gift instead of as a given, ergo there is a giver. Well, then, you’re just taking the giver as a given, unless there’s a meta-giver. The universe can’t be just there and needs a creator, but then you’re left with a creator that’s just there. Then what? It’s like the old Hindu model of the universe: the earth is held up by elephants, which are held up by a big turtle. What’s that turtle sitting on, then? Um… another turtle. It’s turtles all the way down.
