  I had the chance opportunity to meet Tammy Faye once in person. She was truly the sweetest lady (really a character). "Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God". Thanks for making this film it was great.

  Wow. I am so glad that I watched this documentary and so grateful to snagfilms for hosting it. I had no idea what this woman was truly like. I did not know the truth about what happened to the Bakers or why until now. I can't believe that I was so blind! Now I see a woman that truly loved the Lord and her fellow human beings. I think the Bakers are the only televangelists that actually love & worship the Lord. I hope Tammy Faye is finally resting in peace.

  I saw this film at Sundance when it premiered with Tammy in attendance. She was warm, engaging, genuine, and sincere. A true survivor who prevailed over many challenges and hardships.

  Would have been a beautiful job of documenting the rise and fall of the Bakers if not for the silliness of the puppets introducing the parts. It distracted from the humanity of the Bakers and the film makers.

  I am so glad I stumbled on this. I was afraid it would be another ridicule. It is a portrait of Grace, I have been one who mocked her style and makeup and out of the mean media and basic ignorance of facts I did not give her the grace she deserved. What a survivor. I am humbled and while sad that she passed away too young and unappreciated; I know she is where it counts, there is no doubt that our Savior greeted her with the words, "Well done, Tammy" and many crowns. Shame on the Christian community who did not reach out, and as Pat Boone said "Kill our wounded". Good job by all who contributed to this documentary.

  This was really interesting. Tammy really looked good when she was younger! I had never seen early pictures or footage of her, before she went over the edge with makeup. Sad really, like she hides behind it, because of insecurity. Should she not be happy with the face that God has given her? When I was 16-18, in H.S., I had terrible insomnia and was up until down most nights, and since my house did not have cable, PTL was the only show on at 3:00am, and out of boredom, I watched it many nights. Although I was not a Christian and actually disliked Christianity because of its hypocrisy and phony-ness. So still to this day, I feel some kind of weird kinship with the Bakers. I think they are decent but misguided people, who made some terrible mistakes in life. And in retrospect, seem more worthy of respect than their con-man contemporaries and the current crop of born-again crazies.

  I was dissappointed when this happened to the Bakers. I always thought they let the money overtake them and they were just greedy. My grandmother used to watch them all the time and I had just became a Chrstian myself during those times so it saddened me to think they were just out there for the money. I also never liked the flashy clothes she wore and all that makeup. I thought she looked so much prettier back in their early years. But now, of course, I realize you never know what is someone's heart and this film has helped me to see her in a different light. I see that she was a sweet little soul, forgiving, giving, and loving. Even her stance on gays does not bother me NOW.....God loves them, too. I think we need to be more tolerant of gays, not saying we should grant them marriage, but tolerant in other ways and show them love. Tammy DID do THAT where alot of so-called Christians don't. Bless her heart. I'm sure she is with the Lord and resting well in His loving arms. And she really did have a lovely voice.

  I am so glad that I came across this documentary of the truth. Yes, I already knew that the Mr.Jerry Farwell took them down. I pray that many many people would see this documentary. If everyone could only sit down with Jim and Tammy and listen what they know and what was in their heart. I know for myself that I did not know what the whole truth was because with all the attack from the media. Just another event in history that has come and gone with many many people hurt and will never know the truth.....Satan's plan ! Thank God for Jim and Tammy may God highly bless them !!!   So eye opening. I never knew Jim & Tammy actually began TBN & The 700 club. I guess I'm too young to have known that. To see how they were treated by Paul & Jan Crouch & Pat Robertson only confirms how I been feeling about church in recent years. I always thought it was just a cop out when none church goers would say they don't need to go to church to have a relationship with God. Now I see what they mean.

  I regret some of the doubts I had about Tammy Faye and Jim. It is so sad that this did not come out when she was alive! The truth about the whole situation and those 'other' people involved was brought to light in such a secure, heartfelt & honest way. Had this be presented when they really needed it the most, I think it would have saved them and especially their children so much heartache and helped them in so many ways. This documentary was exceptionally well-done. Christianity is not a religion, it is a way of life. A Christian is only a sinner, who falls down and gets back up and knows who to run to (Jesus and our Heavenly Father). Most people want to go out and do great things for God, when all he wants is for us to show others His forgiveness, His mercy, His grace and understanding and most of all His compassion which IS HIS LOVE 'through us':I don't have an answer but I know a man who does,let me tell you about my best friend who died to save me, He gave his life for me and I won't forget and yet He memory lives on...He taught me how to love, to live, to forgive, to extend mercies and be gracious to others. He was always there for me. Tammy and Jim experience what it was like when everyone turn against Jesus, accusing Him of so many false accusations, and used the mistakes they made to destroy them for a short while; In Corinthians it is written, 'to forgive your brother after his suffering and He will forgive them, so that they may not be lost in their grief'....Oh how so many have forgot what it truly means to leave the 99 to go find the 1 (or 2)lost. Oh how we have didn't understand when he put an apron on and washed 'their feet', who washed theirs when they needed it? May God forgive them all... This documentary really shows how the meaning of' I'll always be with you, do not fear'; Tammy was a fine example of that. This documentary was a fine example of "in the hope that they will see what God will do through them and bring them through it"...Very well down! This is the same as when Princess Diana died, so many mourned her; I thought WHY didn't they tell her all those things when she was alive? It could have made so much difference in a person's life forever...Compassion is the greatest character trait anyone could have because it's everything else all wrapped up in one; it's forgiveness, understanding, caring, grace, mercy, love with none of the bad traits. It's unconditional love even if it's for one single moment.

  Never cared much for Tammy Faye or her ex-husband when they were at the pinnacle of their fame in the 1980's -- along with the rest of the religious right. I have to admit I took a certain amount of glee in watching them fall from power and exposed as hypocrites. However, I will say once Tammy got away from her husband, Jim Baker, she seemed to be a different person. Although I didn't agree with her stance on gays and other social issues, I came to admire her candor, honesty, and humor. She was who she was, and made no apologies. RIP Tammy. P.S. have enjoyed watching their son Jim's show on Sundance Channel. He is refreshing and far more open-minded. He seems like a good young man. So it seems the Bakers did do something right.

  I always thought that though Tammy Faye was somewhat of a caricature, when you saw her in interviews and on some of the reality shows, she was quite open minded and ultimately much more of a Christian in her love and forgiveness than most of the televangelists who decried the Bakker's. I think some of their downfall was due to Jim's hubris and Tammy Faye really did not seem culpable and yet she suffered so much from it. (Love that RuPaul did the narration!!)

  I remember being a PTL member before all hell broke loose. I always have and always will admire and respect Tammy Faye. I saw her on Larry King Live the night before she passed away...Although, I don't think 'Tammy' passed away...beneath that poor little tattered body was a very much alive Tammy! She wanted people to know she would be fine and that those who believe and do Gods will, will also be fine...I just Love her!

  To me this story is a great example of someone having faith in God, believing his word and realizing the need for his guidance, wisdom, and support to be able to live life the best way possible. I feel there are many situations in life that can be controlled and many that can not therefore I can choose to act and react alone or with God's support. I want to do the right thing just as Tammy Faye. I want God to lead me and support me through the good and bad . Thank you for sharing your story.

  P.S. All those who are so critical of Tammy Faye haven't walked a mile in her shoes. Besides all that she worked hard for the ministry & all the music albums she made was a part of the ministry. I'm sure it helped pay for things also, ever think of that (remember she was very popular & a great singer)! She also showed that much of her jewelry was costume & paste. Notice also, she was never sent to jail for anything!! Hmmm she was certainly investigated, also. What does that tell you? Could innocent be the word? Most head of television networks live even more lavishly, right! Think about it!

  Tammy Faye Bakker truly showed love to all around her & even forgave those who treated her so badly. May she rest in the arms of the Lord. We could all learn from her & her ability to love unconditionally! No matter what, her honesty was refreshing & you felt it. Never met her but, did see their Heritage show in it's begining a few times. So sorry she had to suffer so much, I'm a survivor & realize how difficult it can be.

  What an eye opener! I was one of the Christians who thought badly about the Bakkers. I cannot say what motivated the filmmakers to make this film, but it has a powerful message of love and forgiveness for all Christians. I have a new found respect for Tammy Faye as a result of this film.I also didn't realize how talented Tammy is. THe film shows how hard Jim Bakker worked and the pressure he endured. The eye opener is that the Bakkers lived no more lavishly than other leading Christian broadcasters.

  Tammy Faye was a very a unique individual, who touched alot of lives in a very postive way. Tammy Faye was loving and caring person. Tammy Faye was a stronge person who wasn't afraid to embrace and show her love for other's. Who had to face more trails in her lifetime than anyone one person should have had to face. And never loosing her faith in God. And know that God will deal with the liars and the devils that tried to destory you and your family. For they will reap their just reward. You are truely missed more than words can ever tell you. I can almost hear your sweet voice singing God's praises with the angels. Tammy Faye you may be gone but in our hearts you live on. Tammy Faye rest in peace your work on earth is done. Rest in our Loving Father's arms.

She and her family were mistreated and discarded when the church should have reached out to her and her children during this time of difficulty.   Tammy Faye Baker and many others who are in the lime light of Christianity are truly a disappointment to really what Christianity is about. Yes, many famous Christian's will lead many people astray and rob and steal the true word of God in deceitful ways. Yes, none of us are perfect. Though all of us will be held accountable for our actions and the lives we have lead. I truly believe Tammy had a good heart...... though she was consumed with her own fame and fortune. Just her appearence of her ways showed her true focus and values of her vanity and self centeredness. She is not alone in the lime light us money, power and fame in the Christian circles. Many become comsumed with the love of money, power and prestige. Many powerful people will lead many sheep to follow the incorrect purpose and wrong values of who Jesus really is and was while he was here on earth. Though JESUS is coming back to judge this world the living and the dead. We all will give an accounting of our lives. Tammy was NO SAINT by any stretch. Neither am I a saint. Only by the blood of JESUS are any of us received into the kingdom of forgiveness. Yes, we all are fallen and unworthy. But, his Blood has redeemed us all! If we receive the good news and gift of his love and his life for us. I will not follow any flashy preacher or proud teacher of Christ Jesus. He came on the ### of a colt and he was humble in spirit and his ways. Those people who are humble will I follow.

  There are many thoughts about Tammy Faye, but one that no one can deny is that she did love the Lord, and was a child of God who never gave up in giving life her all. She was and is an inspirtion to women for she showed strength in all that she encountered even in her final days.   I was deeply touched by this video of Tammy Faye. She suffered alot by sins she made and by the sins of others. She is a very good example of not judging someone by what appears, because we do not know their hearts, only Jesus does. I pray her children are doing well and Tammy is with Jesus and happy.   I would have gone to experience Heritage USA if it had been only a giant tent, or in a field like where Jesus preached. If only Jim and Tammy had realized, that they didn't need all those big, expensive buildings for Heritage USA to succeed. The buildings and rides would have come in Gods time They were too ambitious. Like the Lady Dianna, Tammy Faye could have guided this nations culture back to the real Jesus, (not the twisted version of Jesus that Jerry Falwell espoused)

  It was very interesting to read Tammy's "account" of what happened. I was living during the era of Tammy and Jim's popularity and demise. I have a better impression of her now, even though I realize they "took" a lot of money from their followers. She has gone to her reward, and I hope it is what she looked forward to.

  I wrote a paper in college course this past year that referenced Tammy and husband in a negative way. My mind was changed after seeing this documentary. I never followed PTL but I believe as I write this, that Tammy was a sincere woman who kept going back to the God she knew and knew He doesn't give up on anybody. I had tears watching her... She continues to impact her viewers to the Golry of GOD.

  I knew people that worked in a retail clothing store in Charlotte back during the time of PTL and Tammy Faye would buy clothes, leave the tags in them , wear them on the air, and then return them. Sometimes they had so much make-up on them that they would not let her return them and she was not happy. I think she had no idea what was happening money wise. A lot of people took advantage of them. They were too blind to see it. Jim Bakker was set up by Jerry Falwell and others. Jessica Hahn was part of that.

  I just want to make it clear that the network that Jim and Tammy Bakker ran was CBN not TBN. I'm not sure, but I think CBN became the Inspiration Network later. TBN uses donations to spread the Gospel to all of the world.

  Awesome video! I really enjoyed this video and it sure did clear up a few misconceptions I had about Tammy. I admire the strength and will power she has to go on despite outside negativity and betrayal. I think this woman is basically down to earth and means well in a variety of ways. She's a different sort but isn't that what the Lord wants us all to be? Unique and productive! I've found out that most of the time you do have to stand up for what you believe in even if it means standing ALONE! As for the crookedness of Falwell and others that misuse christianity for a means of wealth and power? I pray they acknowledge their ways and correct their way of life. There is hope for everyone. That indeed includes crooked so called pastors/ministers or whatever they choose to call themselves. Best wishes Tammy and God bless

  I never watched or new about Tammy Faye or the TV Ministries that she help found. I now watch the 700 club or TBN every now and then. I remember when all the bad publicity was going on having a bad taste not really knowing the real facts. I now have a different view and sympathize with Tammy and what she went through. I am glad that I took the time to watch this video. I have a better understanding as to the real truth. I learned to love that woman and understood the deep love that she had for the Lord. She had a sweet spirit. God bless her and her family. May she rest in peace.

  In later years Tammy led a pretty simple llifestyle. She was a lovely caring soul regardless of all the scandals. I do think that the Bakers were also scapegoats for others who wanted their ministry. Personally I have no time for Tv Evangelists I feel that they are all crooks but there was something about Tammy that was so innocent and good...She didn't deserve to suffer so mucha t the end. RIP Tammy.

  Watching this video of Tammy Faye is a real eye opener into christian broadcasting period. It seems that one ministry in particular was responsible for destroying another for the sake of money and power. Rivalry and predatory practices come to mind as well as deceit of a so called friend. Power, money and greed are associated with an individuals ego as well as narcissism. Evangelistic preachers like Jimmy Swaggart and Jerry Faldwell are no better than Jim Baker was. All want to control the world by preaching politics to their followers. Evangelistic preachers are leaches with huge egos who live high on the hog off other peoples money. They rarely do much of anything for society as a whole.

  Tammy waved at me at Heritage USA when I drove in to see it. It was on the decline with many construction projects only half completed. Only a couple pumps open to buy gas. She had on a hard hat and was riding around on a golf cart and smiling. I will never forget that day.

  With no particular reason, I decided to watch this. I was captivated from the very beginning - to the very end. I remember hearing about all this (mostly thorough the media) and I too, had formed an opinion about the "wrong doings" of Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker. This documentory has made me realize how sad and unfortunate power and greed can over take the minds and attitudes of individuals. I highly recommend that as many people as possible sit back and watch this. If it does one tenth for them as it did for me, then all I can say is...job well done, Tammy Faye.

  This autobiography of tammy faye truly touched me. I see a lot of traits of myself in Mrs.Faye. I know she is no longer with us on Earth but she truly reaffirmed to me that her presents will forever live on and that I am not alone and I will triumph through all my obstacles because GOD loves me and so does Tammy..   Hey Lucille, Tammy passed in 2007 but I am sure if she can she still influences people today-like those of us who watched this film. During her hey days I couldn't stand her and laughed with the rest.I was ( and still am ) discusted by the wasted money and glamorous life style. But what a price she paid. When she had the talk show "Jim J and Tammy Faye" I came to know her a bit-then she did a reality show with a porn star-and thats when I came to like her-the person-not the TV person we all saw. She was a very loving and caring person. She showed the love that "Christians" are supost have, Love the sinner-not the sin, what ever you claim the sin to be. She hid behind the makeup, trying to hid her insecurities. She was a very beautiful person, inside and out. God rest her soul.

  What a true Christian! She loved others Unconditionally! Just as Jesus Christ does! What the mainstream media and Jerry Falwell did never tarnished her faith and who she was in this earthly life. Proves you cannot believe eveything the mainstream media "reports". God is about love and forgiveness, not about power and hate.

  I thoroughly enjoyed watching this film and it has dramatically changed my opinion of Tammy Faye. She has handled all the adversity that had come her way over the years with grace and poise. Her refreshing candor was a most welcome change. I had watched her over the subsequent years and found that I liked her more each time I saw her. Thank you for providing us with an insight to a most interesting and delightful person.

  I am 66 years and a Christian. I remember the story we were told about Tammy and Jim Baker. After viewing this film I actually felt closer to Tammy. I would like to see Tammy begin preaching again. I truly pray her life becomes a better place for her. God Bless you all for making this film. The one thing we all need to remember is that the only one who can judge us is the Lord. Since the Lord loves us his judgement isnever too hard on us

  I just finished watching the film about Tammy Baker. I really enjoyed watching the PTL club. I am so saddened how the devil (Jerry Farwell) could come in and destroy a ministry like that. But that is how the devil works. Tammy has been an inspiration to me and I know she in heaven singing with the angels. I am sorry for the hurt she and Jim endored, but god has a special place for them. Not one of us is perfect. Also, we should not judge others. In this world today we need more like jim and Tammy Baker, they always put a smile on my face and reminded how Great our God is. Just look OJ Simpson got away with murder..Michael Vick who killed many animals is free and still playing football and there are may more people who are free and should not be. I am so saddened

  Truly amazing. I have always loved Tammy..and this really was an eye opener for me. I lived through this time and never knew all that this program produced. I pray many will see it and realize the corruption that is not only within the media industry..but also in the area of Religious Ministry. I know there is much more to what TBN was about than what we see today..and also what leaders in the ministry were willing to stand up for. The deceit and the lack of compassion for others is so obvious here.

  This video was eye opening for me. It seems people can somehow see past their own flaws and make excuses for them no matter how large or small. I am sure she was a sweet woman that only ment well. This video also opened my eyes about the politics of religious men like Jerry Falwell and the rest. There is EVIL in all walks of life and this was a big story of the modern day evil.

  Excellent example of a compassionate heart. Thank you for enlightening me this rainy morning with this documentary on Tammy Faye. I am moved by the love she radiates in life and in her death. May the forgiving Spirit she possessed continue in all who view this film.
