  A friend posted the link to this film on his Facebook page. I'm glad he did. I grew up in Racine, attended the all-school prom and have very fond memories. At the time, it was a very big deal. These are young people with limited life experience. I disagree with the person who said this is pathetic. For some of the people attending the prom, this may be the highlight of their life. Not everyone has the grades, opportunity or desire to go to college or explore the world. Many people from Racine do pursue their dreams. From my class at William Horlick High we have an astronaut, doctors, lawyers, business people and college professors. Racine has its' share of problems. Drug, gangs, unemployment. This prom is a "safe haven" where kids can go to enjoy their last hurrah of childhood. I think the film was great. Congratulations to the film makers!

  More than sadness, there's a bit of a podunk patheticness here.... Looking forward to the prom is a great thing, but the focus of senior year SHOULD be where you're going once you get that diploma....a lot of people are treating this like it's the most important even of their lives. Too much weight, man. They should be thinking that way about their college experience.

  WOW! They picked the worst residents of Racine to follow. Out of a population of 80,000 they picked a hoodlum, a non sterotypical wisconsin girl with a stereotypical voice, and a few red necks. This documentry gives a terrible representation of racine. Yes, racine is past its glory days but the student community is so much more vibrant and accomplished then this documentary makes it seem. Prom is a huge deal in Racine but by no means is it the highlight of student's lives. Are we forgeting that most of the students in Racine hvaen't left south east Wisconsin? Prom is definently a big deal here but this documentary makes it seem like its Racine's life line.

  Racine’s prom seems to be a fun tradition for the entire community. This just shows that people of all races can come together and have a fun time. It would be the best fun time for " High School days" but hope it's not the best day of "My Life" ( unless marriage comes out of it) lol There is so much more out there in this world that can be the best day of " My Life"! It seems that there is not much to do in that town but it's very nice that the whole community comes together to make the last days of high school a great memory, I would like to know the following: 1. How many got married as prom partners 2. How many students leave this town for college or University" 3. How many never return or how many do return. 4. Is the turn out for a class reunion big? " This film was a "feel good " film because all seem so happy and excited in a small town. Thanks for the short film....next film "Where are they now?" Class of 2000

  I think this is quite a funny little film! I think it was really interesting and it is a really cool idea that they do. I agree with previous posts that there is a sense of sadness...I felt really sad when that boy said that this day was one of the most important in his life, just like graduation or his wedding. Well I hope if he did get married that it was a million times better than prom! Good documentary!

  I love that idea of all the schools coming together and the community support ALL the kids! I also love the fact that many of couples that went to the prom together in the past married one another...I love romance! But, is it just me or the more you watch the video and overwhelming feeling of sadness set in?! Can you imagine that this was the best day to be expected in their lives according to what many of the previous attendees said? I felt so sorry for them and begin to want so much more. Even the kids expected that night to be the best night of their lives...something is wrong with that picture! I was hoping that since it was 10 years ago that we would get a follow up on how great they are doing now but no such luck. I pray that many of them watched the movie and said exactly what I thought...I want so much more for everyone that celebrated that night!

  I really enjoyed the video, wasn't expecting it to be so great. It brought back memories of my prom over 25 years ago.I loved the ideal of a community prom. I wish the teens in Cincy could enjoy the same.

  I am extremely impressed with this idea. My son is headed for the Junior Prom this weekend and it's going to be held in a town at the other end of the state (Connecticut). I appload this community effort. We could all learn a thing or two from this.

  Was very surprised to run across. We ran the searchlights for the event for 40 years. Hollywood Nite Lighter. My husband died several years ago and this is the first year we were not a part of the prom. It is our red seachlight in the film. Brought back a lot of memories for us. Thanks. Will have to order several copies.

  I was really annoyed that they cut it short...however, they have the whole thing on YouTube!! It's really good, but kind of strange...Dori just casually admits she smokes pot. I think the huge prom is a wicked good idea. I can't wait for mine!
