This Divided State

1hr 28min | 2005
This feature documentary thoughtfully examines the divisive politics in one conservative community during the 2004 Presidential campaign. In September of that year, student body representatives from Utah Valley State College invited lefty filmmaker Michael Moore to speak at the school two weeks prior to Election Day. Moore accepts, and this controversial decision sparks a heated debate throughout the campus and the community that plays out across the media landscape. The anger from those opposed to his appearance results in protests, petitions, bribery, lawsuits and even death threats. And the situation becomes more complicated when Fox News right-wing firebrand Sean Hannity agrees to speak at UVSC prior to Moore's engagement. Will the conservative activists prevent Moore from speaking? Or will Utah's liberal citizens win their fight for freedom of speech? Directed by Steven Greenstreet (8: The Mormon Proposition, Killer At Large), THIS DIVIDED STATE cuts to the heart of the nation's red-versus-blue rift.

Yep, they sure want to control who gets heard. That's why PSIA Ski Schools don't want any ski students to know about The GREATEST SKI INSTRUCTOR In the West or the guy who wrote it--I've especially had trouble being treated fairly by Utah Ski Schools. There's no FREEDOM FROM RELIGION.
