Unsigned Synopsis
"Unsigned" navigates the hip-hop music industry from the eye of the unsigned artists who so desperately want to get in. The movie shows a thriving hip-hop movement that spans the globe. It starts on the street of New York where mix tapes are the currency of the local talent, to Houston, where MC Battles separate the boys from the men, to Iraq where American soldiers freestyle in the midst of battle, and to Africa where new recording studios pop up every day. Unsigned is the story you never hear, showing artists at the top of their game and the frustrations and challenges they face from a merciless music industry.
