  This is the land of the free, not free land. Yes, this country was founded by immigrants; however, that does not mean the United States should become the welfare country of the world. We are not a spaceship by which all the hungry masses can teleport on up to a better level of living without any consequences. We are a boat, and when boats become overcrowded they sink, drowning everyone onboard. Up into the turn of the twentieth century, increased immigration was an incredibly good policy because our industries were growing and the demand for labor was great. Hundreds of thousands of jobs overseas and one-hundred years later, the competition of immigrants flooding the workforce lowers the real wages of all citizens of the United States by decreasing the demand for labor. Immigrants also cost the country billions by taking more than they put into education, medicaid, social security and welfare. This is not to mention the irreversible enviornmental harm an increased population has on our country (i.e. forests being cleared for housing, water shortages). Immigrants don’t do the jobs Americans don’t want to do, they do the jobs Americans don’t want to do for minimum wage! I believe it is every American’s right to the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. How happy will we be in 2050 when the population of this country will be at 440 million (82% of that growth from immigrants and their descendants -census bureau). I believe an immigration moratorium should take place immediately, not because I’m racist, not because I’m ignorant, because I fear for the state of the country when it is time for my grandchildren to start their lives. There are only two countries with a greater population than the United States--India and China--the only thing seperating us from them is a piece of paper known as the constitution. We need to amend it to protect the United States and its people, Whites, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans--all of them.

  One way average Americans can begin to push back against this this of illegal Hispanics and Latinos is to not "recognize" nor accept them as "legitimately" in rhe U.S. Write letters, emails, call, or speak in person to companies who produce marketing materials and in-store signage in both English and Spanish languages. Let them know that it is not appreciated to have illegal Hispanics and Latinos pandered toon the form of Spanish-language written materials. Begin with the Whitehouse's very own web site. Move onto Congressional members sites and materials Then move on to your own state and local elected governments, and let them know you do not want--nor appreciate (and are actually offended by) materials being written in Spanish also. Suggest rhat English be the sole language used. Then, move on to the Contact Us portions of businesses and organizations sites who dual-produce written materials offered in Spanish, too. Write to your television and internet radio companies; why does there need to be so much Spanish language programming geared to the Hispanic and Latino audiences? There doesn't. Let these unpatriotic companies know that at a time of "subtle" illegal immigration invasions, to have Spanish language materials is giving "comfort and aid" to the enemy. And it is not appreciated nor wanted. Get writing, America, there are a lot of places to whom to voice your displeasure about Spanish-language materials being produced alongside the English version...

  Does anyone know how we American citizens can report suspected illegal immigrants; without running afoul of anti-discrimination laws, or other such nonsense which the ACLU might charge against U.S. their own citizens trying to defend their own "Nation of laws", and stem this de facto invasion of Hispanics and Latinos? Please indicate practical steps and resources for how to report suspected illegal immigrants to authorities which will actually detain, process and deport them (if found in non-compliance of immigration law / status).

  I live in Florida. I had to go to the emergency room a few months ago, I lost my health coverage last year. I get charged for the services and if I were an illegal it would have been free. That is not right!!!!

  Under the constitution, it is the right of every community to form a well armed militia to protect itself from enemies both foreign or domestic. This was placed in our constitution to protect American sovernty and the lives of the American people and to deter an enemy when the government is unwilling or unable to do so or even to protect American citizens from our own government. I agree with that whole heartedly, it is our civil duty to protect this nation even as individuals, protect our American neighbor, our citizens who contribute to our nation in a positive manner, work together for the protection of our people and citizens even if it means impeaching the government personnel that have unexplainable taken office and are undermining our nation as a whole to destroy it, destroy it's people, our freedoms even the ACLU are taking from us pretending they are for minorities when they are backed by the BRITTISH that are STILL to THIS DAY attempting to over take America by breaking what hold's it's foundation! ONE NATION UNDER GOD! INDIVISIBLE! That is the thing they are after, once this is gone and it is in most of OUR tax paid for buildings, then they feel they can get the miniorities, the illegal invaders to over take us! I am not sure about your comment about illegals but the mexican TV channels provoke the illegals to protest to remain here, to fight against our people, our police, against us!   Retarded Wabbit hit it on the head. This is NOT a simple problem, with a single or simple solution. Immigration is a good thing: it is the reason most of us are now in this great country, watching this film and reading this post. But immigration isn't shorthand for lawlessness. It isn't an excuse for disrespect of the country you are entering, or those who live here, or the laws which have made it free and desireable. There should be MORE opportunities for people from other countries to take advantage of that plaque that still shines on the front door of this great nation: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" But there must be a concomittant respect by new Americans to the rules we follow in calling this land our home. Don't lose your traditions or fluency in your original language, sicne mulitlingualism is a positive thing. But remember that English is the language of this country. Just as the Italians, and Poles, and Chinese and others worked hard and proudly learned English, all those of Latin heritage must do the same. You insult our hospitality (and your nation, if you truly want to become a citizen) when you demand that Spanish be used. The film highlights the terrible problem so many people are having in keeping the groups distinct: people desperate to become Americans, compared to thugs and gangsters determined to destroy America with drugs. I didn't used to believe in the idea of a close border, or a "huge fence" to secure this country, but this film makes me reconsider. We must find a way to open our heart and our doors to the less fortunate, which standing firm on the rule that those bringing drugs are NOT welcome. This problem once again highlights the adage: not ever problem can be fixed with a hammer. We must clamp down on the extremists on both ends----the overly liberal who would bring every and anyone into our country, even if they refuse to comply with law; or the overly conservative, who wants to shoot ayone who speaks Spanish.   Where are the boarder protectors of America? The National Guard that was put in place to protect America during a war when the troops were all taken out? There is no foreign threat against America except these by these invading masses of robbers coming here to steal everyone's jobs, take their children's seats in school we pay taxes for. They take from our food programs for our poor and needy until there is nothing for our own people. Our elderly trying to go back to work when they are not able to work anymore. These are their yeasr to rest, not work just to be able to eat, pay their electric, buy GAS for their cars and food for their table since Obuma took their food program to give the food to these thieves along with free healthcare, free housing, free schooling they don't pay taxes for. Now they are stealing our white collar jobs by getting free education, turning our cities into drug cartel gangs, prostitution houses painted disgusting colors of shame, embarassment, murdering people, breaking into their homes, looting when disasters hit areas. Where are our troops to protect our nation from this? Where is our leaders minds that are suppose to prevent this with our troops? Who let the county become over ran with thieves from another nation?   I do support the people of the boarder, and agree that if the Government won't do anything, then they have the right to patrol and to stop any illegals. They are doing it right by calling the boarder patrol when they have captives, and turning them over to them. Why is this wrong? Here in Ga. we have the same problem without the boarder. Illegals working and taking jobs that we should have. It appears our Government has failed us, and don't care. Our Government is only interested in it's own needs, not the citizens needs. I think maybe it is time for a revolution, or a change in our Government.

  We need to secure our borders FIRST!Illegals destroyed the building industry jobs in the 80s and 90s in Florida and Texas. I know, I was a small contractor. I paid my guys $15-20 an hour plus benefits. Then all the big companies started hiring illegals. Paid them $40-$50 a day, which is fantastic $$$ for them. Average wage in Mexico is $1,70 an hour, so for $50. a day they were ecstatic! They'd come, rent a house or trailer, and 10-15 would live there. They rented houses in my neighborhood and turned them into ghettos. I lost bid after bid as I could not afford to compete with cheap labor, no insurance, no WComp, etc etc. Osha would come in, and fine US Homes, Centex, etc, $5000. , so what! Thats a nickel to them. After 2 years I was out of business. When construction slows down, they go back home, as soon as it picks up, they come right back. I then became a building inspector, got licensed in Florida. We ended up failing 9 out of 10 houses the codes were so bad. The guy picking tomatoes Monday was doing Roofing on Wednesday. It was unreal how shoddy construction had become. Example, if we poured a foundation on Monday, law states 72 hrs before you can build walls,fly trusses ,etc.. They would pour slab on Monday and Wednesday be flying trusses! Foundations,drives,walkways cracked in months! So then Florida passed a law, thanks to the influence of BIG builders, that all you had to do to get your job passed was to have the "spec" house inspected and passed for every 10 houses/units you were building. It was criminal. There are supposed to be Termite Pretreatments before any foundation is poured in Florida. Thats a joke!I watched mexicans dig footers and pour foundations within hours, with no pretreatments done, EVER!And Im talking HUGE builders here. Everyone was getting paid off. Soon, guys like me had to pick up and move because there was no work. So our old houses we left were rented to illegals, thus destroying property values. I grew up in Florida. there are places there now that used to be beautiful, but are now literally ghost towns and slums because of the illegals and what effects they had.They'd all apply for food stamps, welfare, we didnt understand what was going on. I broke my ### and I couldnt afford a $40,000 truck, yet 5 Mexs would buy one with all their Xtra $$$ because they were getting food stamps. God Bless the Minutemen, at least they have the balls. Our politicians should all be tried for treason.

  I am sick of Mexicans and other illegals coming to the US. I know it takes time to do it right, but too bad. If Americans go to another country, we have to go through the right steps. Also, I am tried of people saying that Americans will not pick crops, clean hotel rooms, wash cars, etc. YES I will, but I cannot get a job, because illegals have them (for $5/hr). I have been looking for a job for over a year now. I have tried every position from office work to stocking shelves. I have applied for over 2000 jobs.

I use to install Cox Cable in Tucson, and i saw a lot of safe houses over the last 15 years, and a lot of compassion for illegal crossers, regardless if it was for drugs or illegal crossers, I was told never to get involved. Do my job and get paid, look the other way, and it's not our problem. I believe that is wrong. I left my job to remove myself from this situation, and i regret not doing what my heart told me to do and join the minutemen program. I recognize and commend those who have the money and are able to help keep our boarders safe. I dislike ignorant illegal aliens that come here and NOT learn English, NOT respect our laws and steal from me and my family, and then wave their Mexican flag and Heritage in our faces like it means something. You shouldn't have any rights, you broke the law by coming here. SHAME on the Tucson Government who support Mexican Holidays and DO NOT Support American Holidays like the 4th of July and cancel our celebrations, but turn a blind eye and allow Cinco De Mayo, where Mexicans in Mexico doesn't even celebrate. Raise your American flag, put UP your Christmas tree and let our Freedom ring!!!!! One more thing i'd like to comment on, I wish they would stop calling our Neighborhoods in Tucson, Barrios, And stop naming our American Streets with Mexican SLANG (Names)!!!   How come they all look like they belong in a trailer park? How come they all look uneducated, fat and or out of shape, and dumb? How come this issue doesn't attract the educated person? I never see people like them in NYC or in any of the three major cities I visit because of my work. They are so ridiculous, painting their faces like they're going to war; yea ok! war against poor farmers who come here with women and children, looking to get the lowest paying jobs, that nobody wants. I got a message for them, go to night school and educate yourself, instead of wasting your lives drinking cheap booze and smoking weed, then you won't compete for the lowest paying jobs with the new Immigrants. In the major cities throughout our Country, where Education/Income are at the highest levels, this Immigration thing is not an issue, nobody really cares, it is relegated to trailer parks for the most part.

  What's wrong with doing things the right way? We demand this of our kids, practice it at our jobs, schools, and even our hobbies, so what's the problem? If foreigners want to reside in another land, then they must abide by and comply with the laws of that land by entering legally. Personally, I have no problem with foreigners living here in the US as they also contribute heavily. Just do it the right way, that's all we ask. If not, it creates a zillion problems, as we've all seen.

  Human Rights for ILLEGAL ALIENS is something to think about. But what about the HUMAN RIGHTS of US CITIZENS being subjected to the criminalities of ILLEGAL ALIENS? We as US citizens have a right to protect our property - and to be protected from a foreign invasion = people entering our country illegally. We also have a right to know who is in The White House - and who is on US soil - without a lawsuit being filed by illegal aliens being "offended" that they are asked by law enforcement to produce ID and legal status.   Americans, the first charge of any President is to defend our Nation's borders. All of the Presidents of recent memory are derelict of duty. As a democratic nation, we must all hold our Executive branch and the Federal government accountable for their mishandling of responsibilities securing the southern border. Arizona and Georgia have been correct in trying to curtail illegal immigration. The Federal government should allow these types of State laws to stand, until the time the Federal Government and the Oval Office will 100% enforce southern border security.

  Half of the Immigration problem was created by the US. From the 1970’s to 1980’s, farmers were producing more corn than they could sell. The price of a bushel of corn was the lowest farmers had ever seen. What did the US do to solve this problem? They created the North American free trade agreement. The US saw a market for corn in Mexico by being able to produce it at a lower cost and therefore being able to sell it at a lower price. Corn drives a large percentage of the North American economy believe it or not. What did this do to Mexico? It put 8 million farmers out of work, people that made their living from growing corn. Unable to compete with lower prices, Mexican farmers were force to abandon a job their ancestors did for hundreds of years. But why did Mexico agreed to the free trade agreement? You promised these jobs would be replaced when American corporations sent jobs to Mexico. Instead, they started to send jobs out to Asia. The few they did send where later sent to Asia.   This is the land of the free, not free land. Yes, this country was founded by immigrants; however, that does not mean the United States should become the welfare country of the world. We are not a spaceship by which all the hungry masses can teleport on up to a better level of living without any consequences. Up into the turn of the twentieth century, increased immigration was an incredibly good policy because our industries were growing and the demand for labor was great. Hundreds of thousands of jobs overseas and one-hundred years later, the competition of immigrants flooding the workforce lowers the real wages of all citizens of the United States by decreasing the demand for labor. Immigrants also cost the country billions by taking more than they put into education, medicaid, social security and welfare. This is not to mention the irreversible enviornmental harm an increased population has on our country (i.e. forests being cleared for housing, water shortages). Immigrants don't do the jobs Americans don't want to do, they do the jobs Americans don't want to do for minimum wage! I believe it is every American's right to the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. How happy will we be in 2050 when the population of this country will be at 440 million (82% of that growth from immigrants and their descendants -census bureau). I believe an immigration moratorium should take place immediately, not because I'm racist, not because I'm ignorant, because I fear for the state of the country when it is time for my grandchildren to start their lives. There are only two countries with a greater population than the United States--India and China--the only thing seperating us from them is a piece of paper known as the constitution. We need to amend it to protect the United States and its people, Whites, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans--all of them.

  This is a tough issue. On one hand I have great fear of Mexico because of the drug cartels and the countries political instability. I do believe that many illegal immigrants are working for the cartels and gangs and they are the cause of a lot of violence and misery But I do have empathy for the families-especially the women and children-who are fleeing that country for a better life here. I can only put myself in that position and if I was living in a lawless country with no hopes for economic advancement, and lived right next door to a country that was considered the land of opportunity-I would cross that border by any means necessary, even if it meant breaking the law. I have had undocumented immigrants as clients as a nurse and all have struck me as good people just trying to survive. I don't know what the answer is. But I'm not going to fault these men (the militia guys) for trying to protect their property and our borders.

  Every man has a right to protect their own property. If people ran thorough my home every day with out my permission, illegal or not, I would also shoot them. I will sit on the porch with my shotgun, drinking whiskey, and waiting for someone to cross again. I am not a "white boy" my parents broke the law also for me to be born here. It is time people stop flooding the border and migrate to Mexico city to protest the monopolies and economical abuse that happens in Mexico.

  These people are an embarrassment to America and are not patriots at all. I rather doubt they would ever wash the feet of the poor and suffering, like the gentleman from the Tohono O'odham Nation. And to echo another reviewers sentiments, happiness to them is degrading and humiliating other people. These people pose more of a threat to our nation than any illegal immigrant.

  I can see that these men are very passionate about what they do. I wonder if they feel any pity in their hearts for the man with the blisters on his feet? I wonder if they lead happy lives?
